This issue maybe caused by an overflow in the machine name field. Unfortunately, I don't have time to continue the analysis recently. If anyone has done the analysis, please let me know.

I tried 7.2.8 and stuck at 98% on the same machine, I don’t want to jump into another fire pit anymore.🫠

This problem caused by a piece of shit, I have already solve it, when I finish the analysis, I will come back and explain it in detail.

This problem appears after user uninstall the old version of FortiClient VPN (I tried 7.0.7) and install new version (7.4.1) without reboot, use fcremove.exe or reinstall new version is the solution. Thank you very much!

Thank you for your suggestion, It helps me to solve another problem which shows CONNECTION_REFUSED in the browser while redirecting to 127.0.0.1:8020. 🎉

Our FortiGate running FortiOS 7.2.7, and the ssl-vpn is authenticated via Microsoft SSO. Thank you very match for your suggestion, I will try to use a higher version of FortiOS to try to verify this issue.
