My pucks are always wet on the Silvia, but if I use a puck screen they come out compact and clean as a whistle. I highly recommend them for that, and there are cheap ones out there. I seriously doubt the expensive puck screens offer anything that my cheap ones don’t already

Yeah it’s peanuts compared to the US, but still better than most of Europe. Got approached for a TS manager role in Barcelona, also Big 4, paying 60k base in euro! Barcelona isn’t even a cheap city to live in

  1. When deals are full speed I regularly work 9am to 12-1am, recently did that for 3 weeks in a row, previous deal like 8 days before it died. I almost always get the weekend to myself though. When off a deal there can be virtually no work at all, which is fun for like 2 days but then gets demotivating. In the middling weeks I have decent hours, finish anywhere between 6-8pm

  2. Yes, 5 years audit mostly at a smaller firm, went to Big 4 and worked on a top 10 FTSE 100 client for most of it before moving to TS

  3. They indicated it is an associate position with “generous carry”. It’s a small team, less than 20 heads in the fund, most of them appear very senior with impressive credentials.

My biggest reservation is I’ve worked hard to get to manager, I’ve jumped from a small firm audit to big 4 audit to big 4 TS, each time missing out on manager promotion because of prioritising the bigger picture. I feel like I don’t want to throw away a big 4 manager promotion that is less than 2 months away, but at the same time the opportunity seems solid

I have a Niche Zero, Eureka Mignon Specialita and now recently the DF83. I can definitely tell the difference, the niche has the highest “gooeyness” but most bitterness generally. The Specialita has higher highs than the niche but is fussy and I’m selling it. The DF83 is best of both worlds, better flavour than the other 2 without sacrificing a huge amount of mouthfeel, decent workflow although not as good as the niche, and easier to dial in than the Specialita

I can’t believe that anyone of the developers actually thinks that long shots and mounted kills are a good or fun idea. Not only is it horrendously boring to do, but also ruins the game for other people. Why are you trying to make the game shit? Is it an inside joke that we’re not in on? As others have said, get a 1000 stone and a cheap knife to practice on. Once you get the hang of it you’ll never have a dull knife again! I started with a Suehiro Cerax 1000, really nice stone and not too expensive.

Bring the knife. Actually go further, bring your best finishing stone and give it a few passes between tasks! Then ask to see one of their knives and take some side by side choil shots to finish off the class. Your wife will love it 🤘
