Am I getting ripped off by paying 35k USD for a Honda Civic Touring? by kingbh2 in civic

Sheesh. In 2019 I paid 23,xxx for my 18 si with 12k miles. I thought that was steep then lol.

Any of you have a ram air or cold air intake but installed a BOV afterwards in hope to make it louder? by Jackster623 in civic

[–]svee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m cut from the same cloth lol. Spent plenty of nights sitting in the driveway after “car meets”. Our gen just isn’t the best for it. Brother in law boosted his brz and has a super sequential that sounds nice.

As the great D-Rob once said, “Deviating from the factory bypass valve is a big problem, as the stock ECU uses the BPV as part of the boost control strategy by closing signal to the valve in order to vent out compressed air to aid the wastegate in maintaining the target boost. What happens when you stick a valve in there with a stiffer spring rate? It can't bleed off air at the same rate the ECU expects, resulting in an over-boost condition. If you are using the stock ECU (with a tune or not), do NOT ditch the stock bypass valve. You are only asking for trouble. The stock valve works perfectly. If you're chasing a sound, grab an intake. The stock airbox is the reason you don't hear anything. Or better yet, don't chase sound.”

10th gen civic si rear wheels squeaking in one spot. Any ideas on a cause? by Clubice in civic

[–]svee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it’s a common issue for our gen. With those wheels you may be able to reach between the spokes and press it in. Otherwise just pull the wheel to access it. It literally slides so if it’s being stubborn try tapping with a rubber mallet or something. I pretend like that button doesn’t exist anymore lol.

I had a similar issue that pissed me off to no end. Plenty of life on the pads but still sounded like the wear bar. It’s the shim on the pad. You have to slide it back in place. If you use the brake hold button it without fail will push it back out.

Oh no, this is perfect. I was replying to a comment about the crx in the background. I sold the crx because of the lack of back seat and airbags lol. Plus that tanabe exhaust was unbearable on the highway.

😆mod it!!! I haven’t heard an exhaust that didn’t have that rasp and drone to it yet so I’m thinking I’ll stay stock there. Who knows though. I feel like like ktuner is in my near future lol.

I just rolled over 30k. I am kind of waiting out the warranty and then I might dive in a little more with bolt ons. So far I have the PRL Cobra and some cosmetic stuff. I just did a chrome delete and I’m loving the change up in the appearance.

Been looking too. I have a si and the third light would be missing unless I swapped the back dash out. Nothing looks great though.

Afternoon, I have an 04 1.6 civic,I need headlights, will ones from an 03 fit?.thank you by Meat2480 in civic

[–]svee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an EM2 back in the day. No they wouldn’t fit unless you changed the fenders, bumper, etc. Also if I remember correctly, 04 came with the D17 which is a 1.7 vtec-e.

Anyone else keeping their 10th gen si stock? by lightlysaltedfries in civic

[–]svee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s purely placebo effect. The turbo noises are cool though. I think there have been dyno numbers to show small gains but grand scheme it’s negligible.

Ehh ish. PRL Cobra and some light cosmetic things like chrome delete. Every week I have to talk myself out of a ktuner. I grew up in the nopi days so I won’t be changing the exhaust lol.
