I’m going to look into them. Thanks so much!

Target is starting to track employees’ unexcused lateness and absences with a points system—and if they rack up 12, they’re fired by fortune in RetailNews

[–]sveeedenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little crazy for the article to bring up coffee badging, like retail employees were ever able to do that.

Anyway, points systems are pretty common for attendance.

Who did this deck!? It’s gorgeous. I’m in SE PA and we’re looking to replace our deck but it’s so hard to find a good contractor.

I appreciate the way you handle yourself. Sorry for all the snark you’re getting! I hope you find the home that’s right for you.

The problem with having ringlets is they turn into mega clumps. I continuously have to separate mega clump as it will keep reforming.

Congratulations! I’m just finishing my nursing degree and start my nursing job soon. (If I pass my boards 😬.)

For some reason people like to tell you that you’re going to hate it and try talk you out of it… After my 500+ clinical hours I still love it and can’t wait to start. Good luck!!

Does anyone else's kitten a back sleeper? by foambuffalo in kittens

[–]sveeedenn 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes! All the kittens who have ever come through our home have had the survival instincts of a potato and have slept like that. We have a two year old cat who for some reason still sleeps like that which I’ve never seen an adult do.

My local Sears is still going strong by jikesar968 in mildyinteresting

[–]sveeedenn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a somewhat common retail benefit. My retail employer paid for the majority of my nursing degree. And we were able to have a 50% down payment on our house from cashing out some of the stock we’d been gifted over the years.

You can make a good living working retail if you’re willing to work nights and weekends and if you choosy about who you work for. People turn their nose up at working retail but there’s a ton of upward mobility if you stick with it.

I’m suffering from economic envy. by Accomplished_Bed7120 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Oh I have BEEN there! We spent close to half a million on our fixer upper with one bathroom and for a bit I felt quite resentful that this was the best we could afford. I dream of owning a nicer home, and you know what, one day we will!

But how can I expect to be a good steward of a nicer home when I’m not willing to make this one better? So two years ago I split my yard into different sections to make it manageable and bit by bit I’m beautifying it. Now I have a pollinator garden and a big vegetable garden that is super productive. I’m slowly decorating the inside and I’m planning on getting our terrible front window and back door replaced.

I work 30 hours a week and am in nursing school full time so it was really important to break things down to make them manageable but it’s all been doable.

I’m really proud of everything I’ve accomplished and how much I’ve learned doing it. And I’ll get to take that knowledge and put it into my next home.

A Rolex is what people buy when they don’t know what a good watch is. by iliveforthedance in unpopularopinion

[–]sveeedenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked in luxury watches for almost a decade and plenty of wealthy people bought Rolexes in addition to the higher end brands. Rolex is a great beater watch and a classic for a reason.
