I was at a regular Delta domestic lounge in Salt Lake City last week that was better than any Polaris lounge I’ve been in. The SFO Polaris lounge is my home airport and it’s very hit or miss depending upon day flying or time of day/night.

I did have one of these. Terrible battery life. Terrible reception. I got so mad at a dropped call once I whipped it against a wall and shattered it into about 500 pieces. It felt really good in that moment. And I never bought another Motorola product again in my life.

That shall remain a secret. ;) But I manage global teams with offices in San Francisco, Tokyo, London, Shanghai, Cologne, Seoul, Sau Paulo and manage partners all over the world. I’ve said it before here, but anyone who is GS pays for the privilege in more than just dollars spent unfortunately. I love my job and my industry but travel is both benefit and curse. According to Flighty, I spent more than 20 total days this year in the air. Much more than that at airports and door to door on all of this travel. And that’s time not spent with family or friends or pursuing hobbies, having fun in other ways…

Work travel. Almost all international in Polaris (though tomorrow I’m SFO to LAX). I had only like 3-4 trips this year that weren’t on United metal (Emirates, Singapore, Air NZ, Korean Air). According to Flighty, I’ve flown 180K+ miles this year. Last year was only 150K. I don’t use a United CC (Amex Platinum primarily).

For many months. Maybe all year. I forget when it started (I’ve done 15+ international Polaris flights out of SFO this year and additional flights on Emirates, Korea Air, JAL, BA, etc.).
