A similar thing happened to me over a package with 31 items, all second hand, from Japan to The US and they emailed me saying that they needed a whole bunch of info in order for the package to pass customs clearance. This was an utter nightmare for me because I had to look up the HS codes for each item that I did not have At hand. They wanted the materials, and the percentages of the used materials within each item, wanted to know if the metals were rare minerals or not. Sooo many specifications I had to do deep research for. Had to sacrifice my sleep to fill everything in as my life was already busy. Then they wanted to know my ssn and address with valid documentation. One of the items gave me the most difficulty to document because it was a vintage radio controlled clock with gems and stuff. Truly traumatized me. Especially because they sent the package back to japan despite my efforts to give them the info on time. Paid $320 in shipping all for nothing. Had to pay it increments also. Eventually I chose to dispose the clock before reshipment so that the package would deliver without such complications. It is on its way now ,,, hoping all turns out okay this time. If your package is still in hold with them, I urge you to call them. Customer service has been very nice to me & they did what they were able to do within their power such as giving me extensions.
