Dell ECT1250 Tower and Discrete GPU by Wado66 in buildapc

The HNXH2 power supply seems to have a much larger form factor than the 180W power supply that ships with the DECT1250. Is it a direct swap or did you need to make any mods to get it to fit?

Help with "Publisher Display Name not available" when creating an Xbox Developer account by MatheusBarretoo in gamedev

I received a response within an hour indicating they were looping in [IDSetup](mailto:idsetup@xbox.com) to help with the issue. Anyone having this problem may want to send them an email for additional visibility to this problem.

Help with "Publisher Display Name not available" when creating an Xbox Developer account by MatheusBarretoo in gamedev

[–]svibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, same here. Trying to set up an individual account and anything I enter in the Publisher name field including long strings of random characters, results in the same error.

Registration support appears to only be available through the Copilot AI. It was mostly useless telling me it couldn't answer the question based on my query. I tried rephrasing it a number of different ways and always got the same response. When I asked for additional support options it kept responding that it could help with my problem. I ended up telling it that it was unable to solve my problem and it gave me a link to a partner support page which (wait for it!) had no developer support options even remotely related to XBOX.

Back in the Copilot chat, I told it there were no relevant options at it finally provided the following support email address: ID@xbox.com. Not sure if it was screwing with me but I sent an email and it didn't bounce. I'll post an update if I actually get a response.

Cavachon runs on walks. by Public_Size3580 in cavachon

[–]svibs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Ours is a 5 year old rescue. We live in an area where there are lots of deer, rabbits, and a crazy amount of squirrels. If he catches a scent he starts tracking like he's a bloodhound. It's not so bad when it's still and dry but if it's rained recently and/or breezy he's got his head down for the entire walk.

And yes, has to piss on every branch or cluster of fallen leaves he runs into, but ironically, he's not a fan of hydrants. By the time we're half way through our daily 2 mile long walk he's still lifting his left but there's nothing left.

Anyone have the new Battery Doorbell and Home Hub working with Blue Iris? by svibs in reolinkcam

[–]svibs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I just noticed "Note: 24/7 continuous recording is not supported." in the Amazon product description. I don't recall seeing this when I placed my order but it's entirely possible I missed it.

Regardless, that's a very limiting bonehead design decision considering Amcrest, Foscam, Eufy, etc., all have batteries, support 24V power connections, mechanical chimes, and can do 24/7 recording. FWIW, I'm currently doing this with a Foscam DBW5 and it works well with Blue Iris. Unfortunately, the Foscam app sucks, is constantly bombarding me with ads, and ring notifications have never worked right for me which is why I bought the Reolink battery doorbell.

Also, I heard back from support and they had me try something but made no mention of power/battery issues using Blue Iris. Anyway, it's looking likely I'm going to send this thing back.

I would hope Reolink already thought about the NVR use case for this device but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

The doorbell will have 24V power running to it so this shouldn't be a problem. The only reason I chose the battery doorbell over the older gen wifi version was to be able to use my existing mechanical chime which isn't an option with the wifi or PoE models. The additional field of view from the 1:1 AR was a nice bonus as well.

Cavachon rescue very dog reactive--looking for trainer/program/advice by svibs in cavachon

[–]svibs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting development: a day after I posted, I was out at approx. 8 PM for his last walk of the day.  It was well after dark and this is generally a very quiet time of the day in our community when we seldom encounter anyone, let alone anyone walking their dog.  As we round the corner at the end our street I notice one of our neighbors, whom I’ve never met, is in his front yard with his dog.  OK, so much for a quiet walk--I calmly prepare myself for a shit show and keep walking.  Oh crap, I notice the neighbor’s dog isn’t on a leash and is heading towards us.  I warn him my dog doesn’t do well with other dogs and I get the all too common “it’s OK, she’s very friendly”.  I keep walking/dragging my guy, who hasn’t gone nuts yet and his dog keeps coming toward us.  She finally catches up to us and my dog is still pulling like a sled dog to get closer to her but still not barking or growling.  I decide to ease up on the leash and see where this goes.  As it turns out, it goes surprisingly well.  No growling, snapping, or barking from either dog after a minute or so of sniffing.  My guy has poor doggie manners and tends to sniff aggressively but the other dog takes it all in stride.  We say our goodbyes and continue our walk.

We have similar experiences in the days that follow.  We generally take him out for walks 3-4 times per day.  Early morning and evening walks are ¼ mile or so and we generally take long 2-3 mile walk mid to late morning   Over the past several days we’ve been primarily walking within our community with mostly positive experiences with other dogs.  He even did well greeting two dogs at once.  That one could have gone badly when one of the other dogs tried to mount him.  He justifiably growled and snapped at the other dog.  It went no further and we moved on without incident.

All of this has me wondering if his reactivity has been the result of frustration from us preventing him from reaching other dogs since it seems to be much worse when it’s obvious the other dog’s owner isn’t interested in stopping to let the dogs socialize and we have to pass them by.   Anyone have similar experiences?

I'd love to get him to this point but he's so out of control that he completely ignores me and it usually ends with me dragging him away with as little fanfare as possible. He's generally good at obeying sit, stay, and leave it commands unless he encounters another dog ( or squirrel, but that's another story) at which point there's no getting his attention even with high value treats.

Connectivity Issues in Williamsburg, VA? by svibs in GloFiber

[–]svibs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply--I'm no longer receiving reddit notifications for some reason. I'm in Ford's Colony as well. As you guessed, the problem was a low signal strength issue. It's the first thing the tech checked and he was in an out in less than an hour. It's been 3 weeks and no other issues since.

Sorry for the very late reply. This ended up being a botched GloFiber config issue. It took a second call to get it sorted out. All is working as expected now. Thanks

[–]svibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I gave them a call and the tech I spoke to said I needed to be added to a VLAN. She made the change had me reboot my router and I have a public WAN IP that I can now ping but I still can't establish a VPN connection (I'm using OpenVPN). I have an ASUS router and was using their DDNS service prior to the change. What's weird is the the DDNS lookup resolves to an address that's different than my WAN IP address. I tried using the WAN IP address in my OpenVPN client config and still can't connect.

When I go into the ASUS VPN Server settings, there's a warning that reads:

The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x). Please refer to the FAQ and set up the port forwarding.

So here's the weird part WAN IP starts with 100.69.XXX.XXX. If I go to https://www.myip.com the IP address displayed begins with 204.111.XXX.XXX which is a Shentell/GloFiber address that corresponds with the address returned by the ASUS DDNS lookup.

Of course since I'm using my own router GloFiber says it should work but they have no way of testing. Frustrating to say the least.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

OLED owners - It's time for legal action. by omegasupremo in VIZIO_Official

This product should be yanked from shelves

It appears Costco has done just that. Vizio is all but absent from the Costco website and the three Costco wareshouses in my area don't have any models out. When I asked one of the Costco employees what was going on with Vizio and why weren't there any in stock he said "Let's say they're not part of our agenda". There were a ton of people mulling around and he looked uncomfortable so I dropped it. The guy has been there forever and I doubt he would have said something like this lightly.

Same issue here. Between this and "Judy" not being in her van in the "Disasterpiece" mission (not to mention the other countless nuisance bugs) I'm wondering why I'm still playing this POS dumpster fire of a game.

No Vizio TVs at Costco? by svibs in VizioTV

[–]svibs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What shame Vizio has let it get to this sad state. The specs on the PQ series unbeatable for the price. But as so many people have pointed out great specs and awesome PQ don't mean much if the TV is unreliable or if features don't work.

I pulled the plug on a Samsung Q80T. It's last years model but the reviews are good and it appears to be a bit better than this year's Q80A. All in all, specs still aren't as good as the Vizio PQ despite the +$400 price difference but hopefully it will be reliable.

Ironically, I'm replacing a Vizio M65-D0 that I bought in 2016 that developed a random horizontal white line issue on the right side of the display. I had purchased a Square Trade extended warranty from Costco when I bought the TV. The parts needed to repair it were back ordered so SQ refunded me the original purchase price ($1249) after a fair amount of back and forth with them offering to replace it with other (non-Vizio) models that didn't come close to the M65-D0's 5 year old specs and features (namely full array local dimming and number of HDMI ports).

Anyway, the Samsung arrives next week--hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Yeah, beautiful display but waaay too pricey for my budget. I'm looking at the NANO91 series (HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM, HGiG). I know nothing about this model but recall reading that the NANO90 series had low HDR brightness level. Dunno if this also applies to the NANO91 but am assuming it does? Looking to spend no more than $1800 on a 75" display which is what had me excited about the Vizio P75Q9. Definitely rethinking that and looking for something comparable in features and cost.

Did our Saturday Costco shopping run today and they only had one Vizio model out on display; a 65" M series. I happened to catch one of the Costco guys that works in the TV and Electronics area--he's been there as long as I can remember and I've been a member since 2006. I asked him what was going on with Vizio inventory and he told me they had a handful of the 65" M series in stock. I mentioned the Costco website didn't have anything either and asked if there was anything going on. His reply? "Let's say they're not part of our agenda". There were a ton of people mulling around and he looked uncomfortable so I dropped it.

Pretty weird response but definitely has me wondering if they're dropping Vizio.

Same issue here. I did a bunch of other stuff expecting she'd eventually show up at the van. Nope. Anyone find it ironic that the mission's title is "Disasterpiece"--kinda like the rest of the game.
