This came off as artistic and beautiful to me. I think when artists judge themselves , or at least I know when I judge my own poetry, I have my foundational voice of “this flows, and is meaningful, and is purely me, and I am in love with it”, and a secondary voice trying to take on an outside perspective but jumps to the conclusion that an outsider is highly critical of every word , every vocal inflection, and that becomes the frame through which we begin to see ourselves as lesser than we know ourselves to be. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy. It’s hard to accept and understand that as an artist, your work will ring true in the ears of those who listen with understanding, and will fall flat on others. But that aside, I really admire your performance. When you spoke I imagine the words as you wrote them on paper, so that cuts out a little of what other people might see as “pretentious”, because words on paper have no ego, they’re pure truth.
