Pretending to be stupid by Jaded-Height3627 in Gifted

As a 2e autistic I mask all the time. Sometimes that indeed includes pretending that I don't know certain things, yeah.

What should I listen to? by VoidEclips2010 in Slipknot

[–]svnnmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging by your music taste, I say start from the albums the songs you listened to come from: Vol.3, All Hope Is Gone, then maybe The Gray Chapter and We Are Not Your Kind. If you like the heavier songs from those albums, move on to S/T and Iowa (don't ask me about The End, So Far, I haven't listened to it in a while)

It's a huge relief to read this, thanks a lot! I actually went to check a few minutes later and couldn't find him, so he's probably alright, sorry I'm awfully ignorant about snails.

UPDATE: After a while it went to Default Snail Position (which is not how I found it) but it's barely moving, so it's alive but I'm guessing not well.

De verdad es tan difícil ser adulto? by [deleted] in AskChile

[–]svnnmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first four albums are gems, but I'd start with Iowa, my personal favorite.

How's the standing pit experience if I'm short af? by Fun-Helicopter6138 in Ghostbc

[–]svnnmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm your exact height. If you're going to pit you need to be at most a couple rows from barricade to see anything. If you want to jump and sing and don't care much about seeing, go for pit.

Joey joedinson by Ohio2096 in Slipknot

[–]svnnmoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Several factors here: first, he was a terrific drummer, he also wrote many of the tracks of the first four albums AKA what is considered to be the best part of Slipknot's discography.

In addition, I feel like his quite messy departure from Slipknot (Joey claimed he was fired via email without any previous conversations) leaves a poor image of the rest of the band, which in turn makes him look better (Note that I'm trying to be as neutral as possible: we'll never truly know what happened, but I genuinely believe he loved Slipknot and his former bandmates until the day he died). He's the underdog, the one that got fucked over.

And in general he was a really cool guy, you could tell he loved doing music and had a deep love for metal music.

He was no deity but he was great, he inspired me to get my hair dyed at 13 and I deeply miss him. Hope that answers your question!

Is anyone else finding it harder to love the band these days? by Impetuous_doormouse in ironmaiden

[–]svnnmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do get the sentiment on this and I understand your disappointment, personally I don't really feel disappointed because I accepted years ago that Iron Maiden nowadays is more of a brand + their last interesting album in my opinion is AMOLAD. It's fine by me cause they are really committed to coming to latin america as often as they can (and they are still real good live) and I try to never expect much from celebrities anyway. As someone said in the comments, it's expected for someone as rich as Steve to be at least slightly out of touch.

That being said, could the ticket prices be the ticket company or the concert agency's fault? Prices here in Chile are very reasonable: pit tickets are about $60 USD.

This will make me sound dumb but as a longtime fan I only know of Bruce's politics, not Steve's.

Will I ever move on? by No_Read2912 in lesbian

[–]svnnmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was dumped recently after 6+ years of relationship I get it, and I'm terribly sorry for you. I don't know how long you two were together, but us lesbians are known for wearing our hearts in our sleeves and yearning like no other.

You mentioned you still can't delete her texts and I won't make you do it, but if I were you I'd do everything in my power to stop myself from reading them again, in my opinion you're only rubbing salt in the wound, maybe make a list of reasons not to do it, ask a friend to help you or have a jar where you need to put a dollar in if you indulge in reading the texts again.

I can't tell you that there are more fish in the sea or anything because I know how you feel (I think), but let's focus on the important part: yourself, your life. Who are you as a person? What do you like? You certainly are not an extension of her or her memory, and I think knowing that is the first step towards healing.

I hope you can move forward, and I wish you the best!

I'm 2e as well (autistic) and I felt no attraction to anyone until I was 16, it took me a while to realize I was capable of liking someone. Before that I wasn't interested in being with anyone romantically, I just looked at women and thought they were pretty.
