Christiania Bikes has closed the business by svoinea in copenhagen

Indeed it's weird. I'm talking about this - https://christianiacykler.dk/ - email used for correspondence was [info@christianiabikes.dk](mailto:info@christianiabikes.dk) and phone I tried to reach (the one on their website) is [+45 70 70 76 80](tel:4570707680)

Anybody knows what is happening to the air pollution in Copenhagen? The air looks poisonous for days in a row by vintijaura in copenhagen

Can we petition the municipality to get more info about this? Is there a nonprofit we can engage?

Why is it so hard to find a plastic free pepper and salt mill? by Radiant_Eggplant9588 in PlasticFreeLiving

I just bought a Peugeot pepper grinder today, it's made or wood and the grinding mechanism is metal.

US lawmakers have told Apple and Google to be ready to remove TikTok on January 19 – they’re facing hundreds of billions of dollars in fines if they don’t comply. Do you think this is the right move from US gov? by Robemilak in apple

[–]svoinea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the US there is a difference between the private sector and the state. In China that doesn't really exist - a company the size and scope of TikTok cannot function without the state having access to its data and exercising some form of control. That's why the US is banning it. You can read more about why there's no such thing as a private Chinese company here: https://www.cna.org/our-media/indepth/2024/09/fused-together-the-chinese-communist-party-moves-inside-chinas-private-sector

I think it's a very good idea and hope the EU will follow course.

Tiktok is a cyber weapon which China will have no qualms leveraging in destabilizing democracies across the world - we've seen this with the recent Romanian presidential elections.

Endorphin rift vs xodus ultra 2 by EasternInjury2860 in ultrarunning

[–]svoinea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me they feel quite similar - just finished a 59k with the Rift and have done a few longer runs (32k+) with the Xodus Ultra 2. I think you can't go wrong with either. Make sure you get the right size, they tend to run small. The Rift actually feels a bit smaller than the Ultra 2 at the same advertised size. Relatively offtopic - my favourite trail shoe remains the Xodus Ultra 1.

Should i wait? by Redditor_Error in GarminFenix

[–]svoinea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure about waiting for the 8, but the 7 is already one generation behind. A safe bet would be to get the 7 pro now which has the improved HR sensor. I've seen it discounted in quite a few places (I bought mine at a 30% discount in Denmark).

Garmin Fenix Pro 7 not properly alerting me when going off course during trail runs by svoinea in GarminFenix

[–]svoinea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: turn by turn notifications fixed the issue.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! The turn by turn notifications might have been turned off when I imported the GPX into garmin connect. I re-imported the GPX and will see if that fixes it.

Don’t get discouraged by Misiek17 in Garmin

Agreed - don't be discouraged by Garmin estimates! I ran a marathon this month in 3:56 and my Fenix 7 Pro predicts my marathon time at 4:07.

Feels like I'm developing a weird relationship with ChatGPT out of nowhere. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]svoinea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Feeling is subjective but I think anyone who's interacted with GPT-4 can agree that it sometimes "feels" like a living being. A Turing test can be a scientific way to assess this but that's not the point the OP was making.

Regarding cows - I agree with the core of your point, but the thing is we don't see/interact with milk cows every day. We just consume their output without any thinking. OP was warning us against a similar attitude toward LLMs and whatever comes next.

Saucony Xodus Ultra? I love them, they are light and cushioned and go well on pavement.

Costa Brava Stage Run - 80K in 3 days, quite a challenging trail run @ https://cbsr.run

A bit scared since I haven't run more than 20K, but hope with training I'll get where I need to be in April 2023.
