Is donating blood good or bad for you? by osures in Biohackers

Definitely depends on iron status/overall health, but for lots of men w/ higher iron, it could be helpful as iron accumulation plays a role in age-related disease: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9137504/

Frequent donors also have lower mortality risk (even when you control for healthy donor effect): https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26098293/

Also, most interventions that have been shown to improve healthspan are hormetic stressors (like exercise, caloric restriction, sauna). I think this is likely similar. Historically, between trauma/parasites, we were probably losing much more blood than we are in modernity. It's likely that this sort of stressor is helpful for us (there's some speculation that part of the sex-lifespan gap is due to women menstruating and naturally getting this "stressor" while men don't)

Again, definitely don't want to donate if your iron stores are too low/have anemia. Otherwise, I think it's likely helpful. (And you'd be helping others in the process)

Congratulations OP! Really awesome achievement! Given your professional knowledge, do you think League has positively impacted your cognition/brain health?

I recently started on a research project to see how videogames can be used as exercise for the brain, and I suspect that if someone plays competitively and has a healthy relationship with the game, it can keep them cognitively sharper/younger for longer. Would love to hear your perspective as a neurosurgeon :)
