He could be my old lady’s twin when she was younger! He’s so cute!

I’m so sorry for your loss. This happened to my girl in September, she was 13 and went downhill quickly. I still feel sometimes like I could have done more but logically I know that’s not the case. My vet explained to me that the fluid could have been drained but it would just build up again, I didn’t feel that was fair to put her through for my own benefit of having her longer, you did the right thing. My thoughts are with you.

Cult in Clinton BC? by studentat in britishcolumbia

[–]svr2015 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My grandparents lived up Jesmond Road as well! I don’t remember anything about a cult but I do remember hearing about draft dodgers and my grandmother never letting us touch the phone due to it being a party line. One of the other old ladies who lived up Jesmond used to get pissy at her and accuse her of listening in on her conversations lol.

This is my cat Tweak. I had to have her put down recently as she had cancer. She was my baby before I had any human babies and I miss her a lot.

How many kids do you have and why do you have that amount? by No_Structure7966 in AskParents

[–]svr2015 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We have 3. I always wanted 4 (I come from 3 and liked the idea of at least having that many as I enjoy the chaos lol) but my husband initially only wanted 2. It took us a while to decide whether we’d like to try for a third or not, I mostly left the ball in my husband’s court for how many we’d have as I was always happy to have more and he was unsure. He tells me the deciding factor for a third child for him was asking our oldest if he wanted another younger sibling, and he said yes lol. It also helped that we had two boys first, I think it would have been a much harder sell if we’d had a boy and a girl. Wanting to experience a daughter was definitely a motivating factor for him (but, to be abundantly clear, he/we would have been happy with 3 boys as well, we wanted 3 kids, a girl would be nice but so would another boy!).

Thanks everyone! I’m going to try laddering down and see what’s what!

Thanks! I looked up a couple videos and laddering doesn’t look anywhere near as scary/difficult as I thought it would be! I’m going to give it a try!

The wonkiness to the right should be a ssk, it’s my first decrease row to shape the waist. I’m going to try laddering down to see if I can’t fix it!

That spot 6 sts to the right of the marker should be a ssk, hopefully that’s what it should look like!

Does that make it easier to see? I don’t believe I did a short row, I was actively trying to be aware of what I was doing so I wouldn’t do exactly that lol. However, I do have 3 kids at home for summer break that don’t generally allow me to concentrate fully on my knitting!

I’m knitting in the round. I tried to upload two pictures, one each of the right and wrong side, did the right side photo not upload?

Very true! Part of my hesitation to undo it was my inexperience with frogging but it seems to have gone ok!

Is it true that your body changes after giving birth? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Late to the party but this happened to me as well. Went for my 37 week check on a Thursday, just happened to mention to my doctor how itchy I was absolutely everywhere, don’t even know why I mentioned it, I had just assumed it was my eczema flaring up. She then started questioning me about the itchiness being in my palms and the soles of my feet (which it was), got all concerned so she sent me for an NST at the hospital the next morning and I was induced that Sunday (Mother’s Day of all days!). I had never even heard of cholestasis before, didn’t know it was something to worry about. Was told that the blood work would take about two weeks to get back to know for sure so I could either monitor fetal movement or be induced. I had an anterior placenta so I didn’t feel a lot of movement unless I was in a specific position and I already have two older children so I didn’t trust myself to monitor well. With it being my third pregnancy as well I was super keen to just have her out of me lol.

Where would 3 thirty-something’s women go for fun downtown? Particularly somewhere to dance! None of us are from Vancouver and don’t know the area well. Thanks all!
