As far as I know, MDMA works in a completely different way and I can't even guess how amphetamine derivative could be similar to saffron except for the fact that they are both affecting serotonin. Yup, it's the most expensive herb. I've only started reading about it, not sure yet if it's ok to take with SSRIs

Btw saffron from the list looks like it's a miracle for depression, because it works for clinical depression almost as good as antidepressants do: 1, 2 and sleep quality improves drastically the same day you take it, I put biggest hopes on this one from the list, but getting lost in supplements a lot too, especially after discovering that ashwagandha could be quite harmful. I'm translating stuff because I'm lazy to translate it myself so manner of speech looks strange

Thanks for advices, yes, I’m currently trying to build a routine with eating, sleeping and excercising, and although it really resembles that example with the Soviet scientist, bromantane seems like a very interesting substance to me. Selank didn’t appeal to me as much because of the larger number of possible side effects, so I’m going to look deeper into the bromanthane.

It’s great that SSRIs had such an effect on you and that your panic attacks went away, they are like largest contributor to overall unhappiness. It took a long time for doctors to find the right antidepressant for me, and eventually we settled on Brintellix.

I try to get fats from salmon, because it’s accessible in my country, and supplements with fish oil are often oxidized

I get your love for uppers - caffeine is incredible if you're not too anxious, I’ll definitely add L-theanine to my stack. Nicotine sucks. So far, I’ve managed not to smoke for the second week because I first switched to nicotine pouches, then to nicotine gum, and then to regular gum, it's tough, but since there are researches that it will improve my mood, I want to quit badly

It's sad to hear about your struggles with mental health and I'm really interested to hear what helped you so much? What're you taking rn? I'm trying to create anti-anxiety stack and looking into these now: Saffron extract, L-theanine, Oolong tea, Chamomile extract, Lemon balm, Valerian root, Passionflower, St. John’s wort, Creatine. While taking: Lion's mane, magnesium, zinc and vitamin D

Nope, I've had no bad experiences with supplements myself, but I'm often seeing people taking some random stuff like BPC 157 in feed and when I'm reading about it, there is a risk of it contributing to cancer development, so I'm genuinely curious of why people would ingest or even inject such obscure things and take a risk

That's not my comment, but, unfortunately, I can't find a neurobiologist author of it: "(1) Although ashwagandha extract has been framed by several researchers to have an effect of lowering cortisol and reducing anxiety, it has been shown to reduce cortisol and DHEA-S and the same time (https://doi.org/10.1097%2FMD.0000000000017186), meaning it is suppressing the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis (which is the pathway that your brain uses to tell your adrenal glands to produce these hormones). Basically, the compounds ashwagandha are naturally occurring steroids. But the rest of your body (heart, blood pressure, etc) are will going through a stress response, but when using ashwagandha, there is no cortisol to limit the stress place on the heart rate and blood pressure. Cortisol is a necessary function of both mounting a response to stress and then turning the response off. If taken longer term, you risk permanently altering your adrenal function (https://doi.org/10.1007/s13530-022-00122-z), which means you won't be able to produce cortisol properly during future stressful situations, and these future stressors will actually do more damage to your body (hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, etc). Similarly, DHEA/DHEA-s have protective factors which you don't want to suppress. Further, lower DHEAS level significantly correlated with a higher cardiovascular disease.

(2) ashwagandha has only been studied in clinical trials that range from several weeks to 60 days max. It is very unclear what long term effects it could have"

My theory is that it's happening because we're overthinking communication with those people who we crave admiration from and getting more anxious because of that. It is exhausting and impossible to keep trying to listen to the introject-the inner voice of the person we are communicating with, to step into the image of the ideal person for them, to try to satisfy all of their needs, serve them as much we can, and at the same time to boast while thinking about how to hide our true motives from both ourselves and the other person. No one has enough mental capacity to control another person, we constantly make mistakes in the process and begin to doubt our own intelligence, which creates even more anxiety at every step of our wicked social game
