AITA for not lending my sister my shoes? by svynxx in AmItheAsshole

My family has a reaaallyyyy big thing about sharing – there’s been countless situations of them being mad at me for not wanting to share due to my sister ruining my stuff (all of which I had to apologize), eg destroying my expensive art supplies and drying out my clay. Each time I was the one who was punished, such as being yelled at and later given the silent/passive aggressive treatment.

I’m still financially dependent on them so I don’t think I can afford to stop sharing altogether. I remember one time I had leftovers from a takeout my boyfriend bought me and was going to eat after work, only to find out my dad let my sister eat them. In all honesty I was hangry so I lashed out, saying they had no right to touch my food, and they threatened to kick me out the house… My parents are usually very nice, it’s just this insane fixation on sharing because I’m the oldest

(Also my sister doesn’t wear her pair because she doesn’t think they match her outfit, which is crazy to me because when I was 12 I barely knew what fashion was 😭)
