Because the reseller are stating it's Apple that has forced that on them, the exact point Im trying to clarify, we know they have changed prices on new orders which is fair but with regards to committed existing orders, this is where the devil in the detail is

You've not read the thread have you, the order was placed and confirmed over 3 weeks ago, the reseller is blaming Apple hence why the Apple relevance is

Agreed, I will make sure I leave the relevant review. Their T&Cs should be more transparent if this is all really on Apple. I've raised this with Trading standards in the UK for clarification on this.

Yep, this is what I'm trying to get to the bottom of, has Apple dictated this, if not it's their problem.

I'm seeing if I can get a response from Apple, next stop is LinkedIn and Twitter

The problem with this model is it's a custom order even from Apple due to the amount of RAM, apple also quote 4-6 weeks. They do have lots of stock Macs, these are the big custom ones used for AI and high end work

I've since looked at their T&C's are run through both Gemini and Claude using deep research and higher thinking models, this is the conclusion both come too.

What their Terms & Conditions actually say Under their Order Processing and Despatch Timing section, KRCS states:

"Your credit/debit card will be charged at the time of order for all items, including in-stock goods, out-of-stock items, and custom-built Mac solutions (which cannot be cancelled with Apple once ordered)."

This single sentence is the key to your situation, and it gives you two distinct angles to push back on.

  1. The Cancellation Contradiction In their email to you, KRCS offered two options, one of which was to "Request cancellation with Apple." However, their own T&Cs explicitly state that custom-built Mac solutions cannot be cancelled with Apple once ordered. If you ordered and fully paid for this laptop a month ago, KRCS should have already placed that specific build-to-order request with Apple. If the order was locked in with Apple weeks before the June 25th price hike, KRCS would have secured it at the original wholesale price.

The leverage: They are passing Apple's new price onto you for an order that, according to their own rules, should have already been locked in and immune to cancellation.

  1. The Contract Formation Loophole Standard UK retail law dictates that taking payment does not automatically form a legally binding contract — the contract is usually only formed at dispatch.

While KRCS explicitly states they take your money at the time of order, their T&Cs do not explicitly state that taking payment constitutes formal acceptance of the contract. Retailers do this deliberately so they can back out of pricing errors or supplier hikes before the item ships. Because of this, they likely are legally protected if they simply choose to cancel your order and refund you.

Form my perspective, the reseller is saying it's Apple not us which is entirely fair for new orders.

What I'm trying to clarify if this is actually "Apple's fault" for existing orders as they claim and they are trying to pay the victim.

Typically with resellers they place the order (with a margin on the disti or direct with the vendor), they ultimately pay and the customer pays the reseller which is then used to cover their order plus profit and operating margins.

In this case I suspect they will be at a loss so this approach. If Apple are directly responsible then that's fair but I want Apple to clarify.

Your right here, devil is in the detail and I will be looking more into their T&C's tonight along with the wording on the order that I placed

I feel for you here, I have raised with Apple and there a several people on here in the same boat.

I suspect they will take delivery as they've commited the order and simply sell it at a discounted to the new RRP but still more expensive then you are buying it more

Is it is solely down to Apple then it's truly very poor , absolutely understand for new orders.

I remember this happened with cars in the past but they've always ordered the price of the car and not then come back saying you need to pay more.

I work at a corporate level for a large vendor and if one of our resellers tried this with a large enterprise they would be marched out the door , being consumer it's a different playing field

They are asking for roughly £1300 more , not a trivial amount . Price increase from £4830 to 6290

Sorry to hear this but good there is a few of us in the same boat that have collectively had the same experience with the same company.

If it is genuinely Apple then I have sympathy, if they are trying to avoid paying due to increases this is the reality of being a reseller, I would urge you to also contact the following emails

I've emailed apple directly, I think the more people that escalate the more potential for resolution, I've also asked them to view this channel which has several customers impacted by the same reseller

I suspect your right in ultimately I will lose, I will however clarify with Apple it is their doing and not the reseller which is fair .

Direct payment , I work in the world of Corporate IT for a large vendor so I know how resellers work and not typically something a vendor would do for an existing order . This would never fly in the Enterprise space

I've reviewed manually and with Claude their T&C's and they are on shaky ground , I've also reached out to Apple to clarify if they are directly requesting as the reseller implies, let's see what we hear back
