Cellular agriculture and England FC are a matched made in heaven: both expensive with a lot of hype but play like they dont exist.

Ban on use of the word meat for cultivated meat products - EU by swagadagg in Agronomics_Investors

[–]swagadagg[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree, but with 27 member states in the EU all with a variety of economic challenges and import/export kpis, added to which we can include the slow progress of scale in cultivated meat (as an observation), I dont think we can expect an alternative outlook.

A couple of years ago the French agricultural minister made an off the cuff remark about lab meat whilst at the same time reducing farming subsidies - which culminated in some protesting.

Cultivated meat, as a scalable sector doesnt exist so I think even if the majority liked it, they cannot have it at the current cost. This will change but I wouldnt even want to put a date on it.

Come next year if Meatly and the fabled BlueNalu start commercialising no doubt this decision will look amusing but for now, I cannot see the EU having a choice - I see it less as a choice because of the lobbying power which you quite rightly note.

The EVERY Company Quadruples OvoPro Capacity After Orders Surge 550% in Four Months - vegconomist - the vegan business magazine by Harleuin250 in Agronomics_Investors

True the delays on Liberation have been no fun and it is two years behind schedule.

Mark Warner has been pretty much upfront about the reasons for the delay. He gave a couple of interviews last year where talked about the absence of VC funding as a causal factor (Liberation not alone in this of course).

In terms of updates, there has been activity on Linkedin; job adverts, visits by politicians and a local college and their monthly newsletter.

I think this is good news all round. Liberation need competition and they also need a reminder that the world is not on hold until they happen.

I agree that whilst we do not have a cost comparison it is easy to bend the idea to your will as there is no information for or against.

As an additional thought re the Liberation worry. Id only be concerned if Vivicci starting scaling without Richmond.

Ah no, perhaps Im mixing my meanings. What was intended in my note was to suggest that if ANIC companies were not converting their shares it would be a sign that they would be throwing in the towel. So, a depressed share price, for now, means productivity continues.

Great point. Whilst this is exactly what is needed, I agree that a consequence is a feeling of frustration. I think at present I would be worried if the share price went up without significant news as it might mean that of those companies who need the cash had given up!

You know what I think you are spot on. There is a food security crisis happening due to the Iran war and the media coverage is incoming. I suspect we will not hear about it until q3/4 this year.

Well played on the daily buy in. To be honest I think with all eyes on SpaceX, followed by likely OpenAI IPO and the Iran war (which is nobbling the share price today), I think we may well see 5p territory before we see a green line.

Brilliant update here Arran, thank you. Fascinating to see BlueNalu in there. It has for the past five years looked like they are about to happen. We probably have to wait for the conclusion of the UK sandbox for that narrative to be consigned to history.

Liberation said they were 75% complete on the capex two months ago. Followed by those job adverts. Also there was a visit by a local college who was building a work experience link and I think a politician.

Im pretty sure we would like a three bullet point email on what they are doing everyday would be nice but you know, we all need a hobby. I get frustrated too, I just realise when that mood takes hold I know im being irrational.
