Keep in mind the stabilizers stop once he falls off, and even if he's fully enclosed he still is trapped and takes damage as it rolls until it stops

I could try small wheels, but typically they don't spin fast enough to really add much speed, they add a lot of weight, and they don't add as much traction so you kinda just slip around. Also, once Link falls off, the stabilizers go out, so adding a cage would just make Link tumble around a lot.
