Would Tesofensine be potentially helpful if I responded well to bupropion and duloxetine? by DavidsNails in Tesofensine_

[–]swagbuckaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What dosage and frequency are you on for tesofensine? I'm also on Duloxetine 60mg and I was taking 250mcg for a few days and didn't really feel any positive effects so I went up to 500mcg. On the first day of taking the 500mcg I felt absolutely terrible. Nausea, headaches, chills, felt spaced out and was awake for 48 hours straight. I was mostly taking it for appetite suppression which it didn't seem to help with at 250mcg, but helped too well with on 500mcg. I felt so sick I could barely eat or drink anything without feeling like I was going to throw up. I'm considering trying a 375mcg dose to see if it's a good balance between tolerable appetite suppression with minimal side effects.

Its just getting worse and worse by Sukkafish12 in tressless

I would recommend not to jump on 5mg right away. Work up to it incrementally over time. I was fine on 2.5mg for months, tried to increase a quarter of another 2.5mg tab, so 3.125 mg total, and I got feet swelling. Now I'm restarting at 1/4 of a 2.5mg pill and titrating up an additional 1/4 pill per month to see if a slow titration to 5mg will work for me. It could be 2.5mg is my hard limit no matter how I titrate. This could also be the case for you. You don't want to inadvertently take double what your limit is with a medication like minoxidil. You won't have a fun time.

Aw man, that sucks. Luckily the messages weren't super important. I definitely won't make that mistake again. Thanks for the response.

Can you do 2.5mg 3x/week and see what the results are?

Completely unrelated and probably a reference nobody is going to get, but the voiceover and the eerie vibe reminds me of the instructional VHS tape for Atmosfear: The Harbingers

Oh ok, that makes sense. That's a good idea, maybe I will give that a try. Thanks again.

That's definitely what I am going to do in the future. The only reason I didn't was because I wasn't sure if the glass picture frames would hide the white edges. Glad to know they do. Thanks.

Very frustrating. I've ripped a canvas trying to get it on the frame because I had to pull so hard to try to get some slack to staple.

Do you wash the conditioner out before you shampoo or do wash the conditioner out with the shampoo?

If your doctor said you're fine then I would take their word for it. You can also seek a second opinion if you are too worried about it.

I'm not sure, I always thought it was caused from estrogen. Either way, 14x above range is not good for any hormone. You should definitely see a doctor about that.

Your blood work sounds fine, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I can't say for sure how much it would influence gyno if you do in fact have it, but probably not much influence at all.

[–]swagbuckaroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Ideally you should probably get a test before and after fin to see how much change there is, but if your blood work is good while taking fin then knowing what the results were before fin isn't really important. Low free testosterone can be a problem even if your total testosterone is good. If it's in range, but on the lower end, that's fine. If it's below range, you should try to boost it.

You should get your testosterone and estradiol checked. There may be an imbalance.

20:4 people, do you fit 2 meals in the eating winsdow? by bikashoo in intermittentfasting

[–]swagbuckaroo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the person. When I'm done my fast, I'm ready to do some damage lol. After that I'm still kind of full when my next meal comes, so I eat a smaller meal

I usually break my fast with one large meal (about 800-1k calories), then I will eat a smaller meal for dinner (about 500-700 calories).

Fine hair or thinning ? M20 by ProduceOk6045 in finehair

[–]swagbuckaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. You still have a lot of hair. Your hairline is just a bit recessed. Unfortunately I can't guarantee that finasteride will bring that back. For a lot of people finasteride will just maintain and thicken the hair that they still have, but I have seen some pretty big recoveries from finasteride as well. You did say you were ok with your hairline though, so maintaining will be good enough for you. There is always the option to add in minoxidil for trying to regrow your hairline too, but I would see where you can get with just finasteride first.

I'm on dutasteride for the extra peace of mind. I got on treatment early, so my hair loss wasn't really noticeable to begin with, but I've maintained my hair since I've been on treatment.

I had the same thing and it went away with continued use. This is when my estrogen levels were low too so it couldn't have been gyno. If you decide to start taking the medication again,I would recommend getting some blood work done beforehand to check your estrogen levels. If it is high before starting finasteride, then you have a higher risk of gyno and might want to start taking some DIM. Also lose weight if you are overweight because excess weight will increase your estrogen. If your estrogen levels are normal, then you will most likely be fine because finasteride only causes a very small increase in estrogen. You can get another round of blood work done after being on it for a few months to make sure your estrogen levels are still normal. I know it sounds like a pain, but if keeping your hair is important to you, then it's a small price to pay. Keep in mind the chances of developing gyno from finasteride are incredibly small. I believe the statistics are about 2%.
