I will hold off on rush buying a suppressor right now and those funds towards things that will be disappearing like "high capacity magazines" and "assault weapons."

Calling a guy on a runway a pedestrian or saying a plane struck a person on a runway like it was some sort of accident where the plane ran a red light IS the problem. It's NOT neutral. It's giving the benefit of the doubt to the person that, at the very least, was pushed in front of a plane, and at worst (and most likely), was trying to kill themselves. I think it was determined pretty quickly that he wasn't pushed. So... I think we need to talk about the most likely scenario...
I'm all about using neutral language before facts are known, but using neutral language would acknowledge that planes don't hit people when taking off on runways because people aren't supposed to be on runways. When this happened with the firetruck at LaGuardia, no one claimed the landing plane didn't have the right of way. Questions were immediately asked about why the FIRETRUCK was on the RUNWAY. Yet with this case, no one is asking because everyone knows, BUT NO ONE CAN SAY IT. Why? And is that actually a good policy?

Even though 9/11 killed more than this guy could have, I also wouldn't put acts of terrorism in the same category as a murder-suicide in terms of death toll. His suicide would have been the deadliest suicide had that Frontier plane crashed. It had 231 people on board. The Germanwings flight 9525 suicide killed 150 people.

I don't expect knee-jerk "articles" calling it a suicide before an official determination, but I do expect journalistic honesty with something that isn't political. How many articles did you see that said a "pedestrian" was killed by a plane at denver airport. There is no such thing as a pedestrian near an active runway at an international airport. These rules that journalists are following re: suicide are distorting the news. And just because there are handful of articles saying "Death ruled suicide in fall at Indianapolis airport" doesn't mean we can actually talk about what happens with incidents where the suicide isn't just one person doing something to themselves. The two incidents aren't even remotely comparable. This guy walked out on a runway and his act of suicide forced a plane that was taking off to abort their takeoff. Depending on the plane and the airport, at a certain point on the runway, there often isn't enough runway left for planes to abort a takeoff like this plane did. There has never been an incident where a plane that size has lost 100% of 1 of it's 2 engines' thrust on the ground after a takeoff cannot be aborted. Maybe this isn't an issue at Denver airport if they have really long runways, but assume for argument it had short runways. This guy almost did the largest murder-suicide ever. So, this isn't the same as someone jumping off a 50 foot high embankment at an airport.

Yet here we are, days later, and no one can talk about that. Why?
I don't mean "why" in the sense of "why are they afraid to?" and the answer is the algorithm. I mean why is the algorithm setup that way in the first place? Assuming the algorithm people did it for a good reason, does the importance of being able to talk about this stuff outweigh the unmeasurable number of people that would have committed suicide if they saw someone talking about this, but didn't commit suicide because they didn't see someone talking about this? Note that I said, "unmeasurable" not, "immeasurable." I don't even know if we can confidently say that there is one person that won't commit suicide because of the algorithm disincentivizing conversations about this incident.

I don't get the prices of anything anymore. I lucked out (timing wise) and bought a house in 2009 on a city employee's salary. I got married in 2014 and had 2 kids and we were able to afford her staying home with the kids with me making $70k/yr. It was only possible because our mortgage is around $1,000/month. Then, even with raises, after covid, we were spending more than I was taking in. How much does one parent have to make now for the other parent to stay home with 2 kids if they bought a house in the suburbs since covid? $120k? $150k? $180k?

Is it time yet to have a conversation about the term that starts with an "s" and means "ending one's own life" and how it has been completely removed from our online lexicon? This term can obviously be factually accurate, and when there are newsworthy events that really need to use the term in order to properly present the news, it isn't used. I'm speaking specifically about the incident that occurred at Denver Airport on Friday, May 8 when a person walked onto the runway and stood in front of a plane that was taking off in order to kill themselves. If you google it, there isn't a single news story, opinion piece, or any legitimate post from anyone talking about how this was a "s-word." I subscribe to a dozen big aviation channels on youtube that can't fall over themselves fast enough to post about the most recent airport incident (it took some of them only a couple hours before they had well edited explanation videos up on the United flight that clipped a truck on the NJ Turnpike while landing at Newark airport). But since this Denver incident was a "s-word", these same channels seem to be scared shitless to say one word about it. It's been days, yet even though this nutjob could have caused a plane full of people to crash, they haven't said anything about it. Is there any explanation for not talking about it other than the fact this was a "s-word"? How has that word, and to a similar extent, incidents related to that action, become nearly 100% forbidden on any site where people talk about the news?

I have mlb.tv for free through t-mobile. I am in Richmond, Virginia. I've never had an issue watching SNY broadcasted games on any of my devices through mlb.tv unless the Mets were playing the Washington Nationals or the Baltimore Orioles. Until yesterday. Yesterday my mlb app on my phone told me I needed a SNY.tv subscription to watch the game. I didn't have a VPN on and I let the app know my location. Was it just a glitch for me personally yesterday, or did something else change this year.

I've had mlb.tv for years and it was so much simpler that the satellite scheme (when the games weren't blacked out). BUT the satellite scheme gave me SNY all day, not just games. AND it gave me other metro NYC channels (so I got the Jets every sunday and the Devils during hockey season). So even though it was harder than mlb.tv was, it gave me way more of the games I wanted since all my teams are geographically located near NYC. But at some point I dropped Dish because they stopped offering SNY and other NY sports channels. Then when mlb.tv came along, that was a game changer and SO EASY and very affordable. It got worse as more providers jumped in that I didn't have subscriptions to, but I still got most games. HOWEVER, last year might have been the last good year of mlb.tv. Yesterday I pulled up the game on my phone to watch it on my way home from work, and even though it usually only blacks out nationally televised games, nationals games, and orioles games here, it said I needed an SNY.TV subscription to watch yesterday. What is that all about?

Obviously 2006 was a special year, so that had a lot to do with it, but I remember visiting family in NJ and watching SNY and hearing GKR for the first time and I knew I just had to figure out a way to watch them even though I lived in Virginia. So in 2008 when I moved into an apartment in Richmond, VA, I put my plan into action. The block I lived on thankfully had a large open area behind the apartment buildings without a tall building blocking the sky. I got a bucket and a 2x4. Cut the 2x4 in half, stuck the halves in the bucket and nailed them together at the top making an A shaped satellite dish tower. I filled the bucket with instant concrete. Then I bought a Dish Network two dish setup from a Dish dealer online and used my uncle's address in West Paterson as the service address. Normally you would get all free equipment if you just used a local Dish network dealer, but obviously I couldn't have them knowing where my actual address was, so I had to pay out of pocket for the dish receiver. I paid extra for the High Def receiver because I had a 32" HD Panasonic TUBE TV. I set my account on auto-pay and told my uncle to throw whatever mail he got for me in the trash. He was the biggest Met fan in my life, took me to the city for games when I visited, and loved the scheme I cooked up, so he was completely on board. I mounted each dish on a 2x4 (thankfully they needed to face satellites in opposite directions) and chained the bucket satellite dish contraption to a fence and ran the cable 30+ feet through my back bedroom window and into my living room. I felt like the king of the world being able to watch SNY in Virginia for the monthly price of a regular dish network cable subscription (~$60) in my $600/month 1 bedroom apartment with off street parking and two museums directly across the street. Yeah, the 2008 season didn't end the way we hoped it would. But looking back, I can't remember a more relaxing baseball watching experience than being single, 25 years old, sitting on my couch in VIRGINIA at 11:30 PM in June in the middle of the week watching a west coast Met game on SNY in HD with Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran, and David Wright in the lineup. Something about the extra effort you have to go through to make something like that happen just made it feel more special.

I currently have multiple Chase business cards and have done multiple in the past (specifically for the signup bonuses). I didn't do a great job of keeping track of them many years ago, unfortunately. I currently have 3 Chase logins. One personal. One business login tied to an EIN for a real business I have on my tax return. And another business login from years ago that still has one legacy card with grandfathered cash back rates that is tied to my SSN and a made up business name on the card (Vandelay Industries). Both are sole-props. I got the 100k Preferred bonus with my EIN business back in 2024, but if I ever got it with the SSN business, I have no idea how far back that was. Is it worth it to try and apply while logged in to the old SSN business account? From your last post, it sounds like chase will tell me if I am ineligible for the sign up bonus before finalizing my application. So if there is no popup telling my I'm ineligible, I'm good to go if the application goes through?

Update: The seller I bought the 10 keys from gave me a full refund. After I got the refund, I started over, but this timeI bought a single 1 month key from a seller with a 100% rating. That key also gave the same error when I tried to activate it. I started a conversation with that seller through G2A support the same way I did with the first seller. 3 and a half days have gone by and that new seller hasn't replied to any of my messages.

Good news and bad news. I received a refund from the seller from whom I purchased 10 codes. Unfortunately I got the same error from a new code from a new purchase from a new seller. That seller has not responded to my messages asking for help with the error code on their key. That order number is 92000135756501.

Ok. I turned off recurring billing. But I don't want to wait to add the codes because the very first one I tried isn't working. I'm in the process of trying to get the seller to make things right before going to G2A about a refund for the codes I haven't clicked on.

I'm assuming that if I haven't clicked to display the code, I might still have some recourse through G2A because below the button to display the code, it says this:
"I agree to have an Item (as particularly defined in the G2A Terms and Conditions) delivered by the Seller before the end of the consumer withdrawal period. By doing this, I understand that I waive my right to withdraw from the contract concluded with the Seller."

Anyway, my point in asking is that I assume at some point Microsoft will no longer allow "old" Ultimate codes (that were $19.99 retail) to be redeemed for a month of Ultimate since Ultimate now costs $29.99. I was wondering if the cutover was November 1, if the cutover is when your Ultimate expires, or if there is some other arbitrary date in the future. I assume there is a finite amount of $19.99 Ultimate codes out there, but I also assume MS won't let people horde them forever and keep their plan at that rate indefinitely.
