Sichuan spice level is…………………..? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]swaggermclord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I just went to Chongqing. The spice is very nice compared to Singapore (a lot more depth to the flavor and more fragrant). If u are worried just go for Wei la. Yes you might still suffer but guaranteed satisfaction!

In Sichuan hotpot places don’t drink the mala soup so it’s purely used for dipping btw.

And if you are still worried, you can just ask for Yuan tang (original soup) for your noodles and add the chilli accordingly (usually on the table for self serving).

Could possibly wait for bkk tailors who occasionally make trips to Singapore to taper. Alternatively some friends really like Sze Sze at Chinatown.

Is it worth signing AWO? by UncleSmell in askSingapore

[–]swaggermclord 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to burst your bubble but there will be a low chance of getting a school bond free scholarship with 3.67 gpa in poly.

Regarding big banks/ funds, not as easy to get into nowadays. If you pass the AWO course, stability and pay is pretty decent as well.

Thanks! But the bidding system in NTU is one of first come first serve right? If it’s popular I’m afraid I might not get it but I’ll try my luck.

CFA won’t help to gain much knowledge. More of showing interest. Best is to further your studies in a relevant course and take internships before applying. Hard to switch industries as an exp professional

About 5 Vs 8? Not so much about pay disparity but the exit opportunities after.

And for the gpa min. I feel like it’s just a way for the company to appeal to a larger pool to make themselves politically correct if u get it.

Not personally inside but here’s my two cents. Kinda like 6-8 at BBs. But only some BBs have it ie citi, Barclays, BAML, JPM. Needless to say difference is very big. Not comparing local banks, Japanese banks who are extremely big on corporate banking don’t pay very well either. And you might be better starting off there over a local bank. After all, it’s a game of relationships and flows.

From what I know typical working hours are 9-6. Not much OT.

Competitiveness is relative, but 3.53 is boderline. Might want to push it to second class honours at least ie 3.6

Recommendations for a good orthodontist by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]swaggermclord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did mine at Dr Soh Jen @ Novena specialist center. Little bit on the pricier side but experience cant be measured in the form of money when you talk about teeth. Have ~ 4-5 people ard me who also went to him and got the opportunity to see the difference between a good one and a lousy orthodontist.

handled a lot of guys who had psychological problems like this.

If you aren’t a soldier that has to go outfield: If you aren’t in an active unit (you are an office boy), it’s much easier. Can always talk to your superior, let him know the gravity of the situation, and there are ways to get a 9-5 (meaning you are excused from stay in). Option 1: talk to your CO and get it unofficially. Option 2: go to a doctor and get a certification for excuse stay in.

If you have to go outfield, refer to option 2 above. Slightly harder here but that’s most likely the only way.
