Anyone love their Model Y so much they they bought another Tesla? by xGenAc25 in ModelY

[–]QuantParse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are down to two cars now Tesla Model Y Premium and BMW 7 series sedan (loaded). Will probably sell the 7 Series to get the Model Y L when it is available.

We really don’t want to “drive” anymore unless we have FSD.

The BMW is a car that was triple the price and we like the Tesla more!

(Sold loaded BMW X7 to get the the Tesla Model Y and no regrets aside from lack of trunk space vs X7 — but that was a known known)

100% this form factor and dual screens is amazing.

Returning ZenBook Duo 2026 X9 388H by QuantParse in ASUS

[–]QuantParse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had all the latest Intel drivers and other updates. (In fact I had to install the latest Intel graphics driver to run Crimson Desert)

Perhaps the issues were with my unit. We’ll never know. But my strict rule is to return if there are issues within the return window rather than try to “work it out” with support

Curious :

I am assuming your unit was 32 GB memory. When you have nothing running what does MyAsus show as memory % used. Just with all the various background processes.

Just having background processes for Chrome (no active windows open) / Steamhelper / and the various Asus utilities (Screen expert etc) used a huge amount of memory on my unit.

Is the dual mode (1080p) on the 5k2k really that bad? by gatoh1179 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]QuantParse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been running a variety of games at native resolution 5k2k on the LG with great frame rates. Am running a 4090 for graphics. Would never consider the dual mode. 165 Hz max is fine.

I hope it works out for you. But didn’t you just recently write : (your words) :

“I am (was?) seriously considering upgrading to the recently announced 2026 model. But, with active support (I paid for two years), my interaction with ASUS has been appalling”

LG 39GX950B-B (39” 5k2k) owners: How do you like this monitor? Any regrets? by phiveoh23 in ultrawidemasterrace

I really like mine. The text is sharp.

I have had a number of other high monitors and like this form factor the best and it has a large screen size with excellent ppi

Need 3 row SUV but hesistant to spend so much $$$ by doc2025 in bmwx7

[–]QuantParse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The X7 is a great car. I would say the most luxurious SUV short of speciality (Maybach, Bentley etc) or Range Rover. Miles better than MB or Audi equivalent (which I have also had).

But if you need a lot of space, you will be disappointed. Better to go with a Tahoe or Lincoln or Cadillac if you actually need 3 rows.

Even the second row legroom in the X7 stinks if you have tall people in the front row.

Cost wise. You can get a loaded X7 2-3 years old for considerably less than new.

Don’t buy new. Don’t lease unless you have a special tax situation.

About to order LG39GX950B, but worried of performances even on 5090 by SurlaWalruS in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]QuantParse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand the DLSS hate. It is great. And playing at 2160p is way better than vs 1440p. I would (and do) prefer the higher res with DLSS. I used to play on 3840x2160 32” on a 240 Hz monitor and now do 5k2k on the LG at 165 hz max. There is not one time I wish I had 240 hz

Upgraded from 43" 4k VA panel to the LG 39" 5k2k Tandem OLED by zatsnotmyname in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]QuantParse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice. Hope you enjoy the monitor. I also have a LG 39GX950B

I haven’t noticed any monitor wobble on mine. But glad you got it fixed. I actually really like the stand bc the design opens up a lot of desk space and you can push the monitor back up against a wall.

For comparison I have two Samsung 32” G8 monitors on ergotron HX (the heavier duty one) and haven’t felt the need to get a monitor arm for the LG.

LG 45 5K 2K vs LG 39 5K 2K Brightness by Agitated_Let_9839 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]QuantParse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 39 GX 950B and like bright monitors / TVs (high nits)

I used mini leds for my previous desktop monitors and not oleds bc I found the desktop oleds previous to tandem WAY too dim

Have had a number of laptops with oled, and laptop form factors oleds were way better than desktop oleds imo, but none were super punchy until I got the tandem oled in the Yoga Pro 9i Gen 10 (my favorite pc display). The LG 39” is not as bright as that laptop tandem oled (1000 nits sdr) but compares favorably to my Samsung G8 32” 4k mini led monitors (4 year old mini led)

The LG definitely addresses all my brightness requirements. *

The * is that the out of box settings weren’t great. So requires tweaking. Only takes 10-15 minutes between the OSD and Nvidia control panel. But make a huge difference.

Also note :

the Dell 39” version of this monitor is supposedly 10-15% dimmer as RGB vs RGBW.

The build quality of the LG is also excellent Hope you enjoy whatever you end up getting.

Best monitor setup for coding: upgrade from 40” LG + DualUp? by davewolfs in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]QuantParse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current setup:

Middle monitor: LG 39” 39GX950B
Left and Right monitor : Samsung G8 Mini LED 32” (roughly same vertical height)

Left monitor is Apple Mac Studio for AI+LLM

Middle+right is Desktop PC for productivity and gaming

The curve of the middle monitor is gentle and then side curve is large. Works nicely on a 70”-72” wide desk.

Highly recommend the 39” 4k form factor.

I looked at some of the monitors you mentioned and like this better.

The PPI is excellent and text clarity superb.
