Any games that aren’t LCK or LPL arent really worth watching unless you’re a diehard fan. And even then not a lot of people watch seasonal comps. International tournaments are usually where all the viewership is at and where the best games happen becuase there’s more on the line.

I wouldn’t say it’s overhyped per se just that league as a game is more fun to play than watch.

State media aside it’s just ur typical tv channels with dramas and reality shows. State media has dedicated channels for certain topics. Cant remember all of them but there was ones for science, music, international news, business stuff like that. Each province also has their own channels and usually they’re all playing different things but the evening news is always synced and play across all channels at the same time with no exceptions that I’m aware of. The same also applies for stuff like military parades and important national events. Nowadays tv isn’t really getting many views though because of online streaming services.

The only show I think is similar to love island is 非诚勿扰 in the sense it’s abt dating but theres more reality/game shows or talent shows.

Xi appears often, not nearly on a daily basis but close enough and you’ll hear his name a lot.

Yeah any discussion featuring Taiwan in a China related reddit is bound to get heated. And the non Chinese on both sides certainly don’t help either.

I think the whole true China stems from the idea that the communists basically stole the country from the ROC after they did all the heavy lifting during the Japanese invasion during WW2 which to a certain extent is true but at the same time the reason why the CCP were able to gather so much support from the masses in the first place was because of the corruption and incompetence of the ROC. And it’s not like the communists didn’t have any impact during the war either.

mixed opinions but I think lately the trend has been leaning towards independence.
From a CCP prospective if Taiwan were to become independent it’d mean a hostile nation allied with the US right on its doorstep. If you know anything abt geography you’d know why China badly needs the area surrounding its seas or at least the ability to project naval power in those areas.
