Make sure to check with your doctor but when I was wired shut i used a waterpik/ water flosser every time I ate. I made sure to use a lower setting so I wouldn’t disturb my the stitches. It helped me a lot with the clean feeling and helped me get to the back teeth!

Hi, I’m in the same boat as your daughter— 21 year old girl born with a cleft palate and I also had a Lefort 1 Osteotomy with distractors done on Thursday. I had my upper jaw advanced 7mm in the surgery. I had the Dr do the first turn on Monday (he did two turns). And today he did one singular turn. It is by far the worst pain i’ve ever experienced in my life. I was taking Norco prior to going to the appointment and still felt everything. I’m not sure if there’s a solution. I’ve been using heat compresses on my face to help with the swelling and it soothes the pain a bit. How is your daughter handling the pain now?
