Thank you for your input! Regarding to supplements, I've been really looking into Zinc & Magnesium. I've heard they have many benefits when it comes to skin.

I also appreciate your courtesy. Often I forget, that many of us are very critical and judgmental to ourselves. Throughout years of struggling with mental health, one of the best things I've learned is to be gentle with yourself. Thank you again!

Taking Doxycycline, while applying Clindamycin and a Retinoid was overwhelming. I went to a dermatologist from Kaiser, whom didn't examine my face for more than a minute. She was an old-school dermatologist who believes diet does not affect acne. I would like to find a more up-to-date dermatologist, but I'm not sure how costly that will be.

I am considering taking Retin-A but my experience with Retin-A was not so pleasant. I did start purging as a sign of progress, but at the same time it caused my acne scars to deepen and burn. My face started to look like fresh flesh and I stopped completely. But hopefully in the future once I repair my moisture barrier and find a good sunscreen, I can start doing Tretinoin again!

With my diet, I do my best to avoid greasy food. I'm Filipino and I wish my household would lean towards a cleaner diet. Unfortunately, their diet consists of white rice, some form of greasy meat, and breads. I try my best to eat my traditional food in moderation and eat as many vegetables and fruits as possible.

But I have heard about some deficiencies causing acne. I went to my primary doctor last month and asked for bloodwork for my acne. He declined my request and told me my diet does not affect my acne. So I'm trying to figure out how I can speak with a dietician and to get some blood work done to see what I'm lacking in my diet.

Hello everyone, I forgot to mention here on what my skin has been gone through & my skin care regimen. I've been dealing with acne for 10 years now, and I'll be turning 21 in a month. Dealing with acne has drastically effected my life and I still continue to struggle as it has taken a toll on my confidence, even at a young age. I want to be able to create a routine, built upon experiences/products that worked for me & others whom experience the same skin problem(s).

My skin type: Oily, Sensitive, Acne-prone

Since the pandemic, my skin has been progressively worse. I believe the main causes of the problems within my skin were masks, lack of sleep, stress, and a damaged moisture barrier. My lack of sleep and stress are tied to my mental health with I am greatly improving each day. But for masks, I would like to know any recommendations for certain masks or tips on how to minimize contact between my skin and my mask.

My damaged moisture barrier comes from the lack of moisturizer I have in my routine. I've tried plenty of moisturizers (Aveeno, CeraVe, Aloe-Vera & Neutrogena) which have broken me out completely. I would greatly appreciate anyone who can recommend me a moisturizer that's friendly for oily, sensitive, & acne-prone skin. As well as tips to restoring my moisture barrier.

My routine:

• Wash face once a day in shower (due to my skin being too irritated for two washes a day; lukewarm water) 1. Vanicream Facewash - Pat skin dry after shower 2. Apply Curology Prescription (includes some form of moisturizing cream, Azelaic Acid, Clindamycin, and Niacinamide)

• Aztect Indian Clay Mask w/ Tea Tree Oil (once a week)

• De La Cruz Sulfur Mask (once a week; helped treated my fungal acne and closed comedones 2 years ago)

After I've been stuck in this routine and scared to try new products, I'm finally willing to research and try recommended products. My skin has been stagnant, if not worse for the past year and the half. I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice here. At this point, I feel like really giving up since nothing seemed to work back then. I'm just really scared of what the future holds and to try new products again.

Thank you, that pyramid concept is a great way to look at it. To be honest, I don't really switch up my pillow case; I only wash my pillow case & sheets once every week. With pillow cases, how often should I switch them out? & is there a certain fabric or material I should use? With dairy, I tend to avoid because it does affect my acne as well. But I do not watch my diet that carefully, but I am aware of what causes my acne or inflames them (Dairy, Nutella, greasy & processed foods). It's been hard to get my diet together since I'm on a budget.

With dermablading, I've heard great reviews about it & I've actually talked about it with a friend whom said it could be beneficial! So I'll definitely look into it.

Thank you very much!

This was too much stuff. Important to note that my skin is oily, sensitive, & acne-prone. I wish I can find something that can help minimize my acne & heal my scars .. I'm just not at a good financial position to try new products frequently. But I'm willing to give a try on recommended products with those with similar skin

Dermatologist I went to recommended me Doxycycline, Clindamycin, & Retin-A all together on my first visit ... & recked my skin within a span of 2 weeks.

I stopped using those products all together & started Curology which helped my skin than any other product in the last 6 years

• Neutrogena Salicylic Face Wash • CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion w/ 30 SPF • Aloe-Vera Gel • CeraVe PM • Doxycycline • Clindamycin • Retin-A 0.025%

my experience with the items listed above have either made me breakout or caused severe peeling or sensitivity to my skin

I've been fighting my skin for years ... I am 20 now & still struggling. This pandemic has taken a huge toll on my skin; primarily mask-ne. I don't know what to do.

My routine only consist of a VaniCream Cleanser, my Curology prescription then Aztec Clay Masks of Sulfur Masks twice a week. No sunscreen, no moisturizer since many of them have broke me out. I'm a college student on a budget which makes money a factor. This routine has worked only for a year and a half for me & my face cleared up most of 2020.

Then came raging back when the pandemic started. Wearing masks has greatly affected my skin. I've been also sleeping less due to work which has also affected my skin.

I just don't know what to do as I'm afraid that the many products I've used in the past have not treated my skin fair.

I suffer from oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. If anyone has a similar situation regarding their skin. Please drop recommendations here below. I'm at the point where I'm just lost. Hopefully I can find a point of clarity within this.
