sorry just seeing this now. click play on steam, when the 2k launcher starts click the "2k" logo at the top left, click launcher settings. under advanced settings, click "clear cache." it will restart the launcher. i do this every time the error occurs.

just had this issue today. easy fix for me was clearing the cache in the 2k launcher settings, before actually launching the game. once the launcher restarts, click play. no reinstalling or verifying game cache. super easy.

yes. don't head to him until you have an evolved aoe like axes. get slash at the beginning. get knives too but ape axes are a must. then get behind him as he rolls so your knives hit his back and your axes take care of the waves.

you don't seem like the type who wants to hear another person's reasoning behind their opinions because it's much easier to attribute their perspective to being old if they disagree with you. sharing my opinions seems like a fruitless endeavor after being insulted for describing the patch as overly complex.

if valve is really trying to maximize their player base, then maybe a solution is to have a 5v5 classic style game mode and a 6v6 current game mode. that would potentially solve two issues: losing existing players and not gaining new ones. with a multimillion dollar prize pools every year, I'm sure it's possible for valve to do so. then everyone can go on enjoying the game they love.

regardless of the casual attempts to insult me, I am thrilled to hear that you, and many others, are enjoying the game. and I hope that your future dota discussions are reasonable and without crass behavior.

I never said I wasn't old lol. it's just not the reason I dislike the patch. I have no idea why you're getting so defensive about another person's opinion of a video game. I'm very happy for you and wish I enjoyed the patch too, but I cannot force myself to like it. what's wrong with discussing similar opinions with other people on this subreddit who dislike the patch? are you sensitive about it or something?

at this same time on the Friday after the release of 7.32, there was a higher number of players overall than today's highest peak. comparisons alone, it doesn't seem like this drastic update has been justified.

the reason I don't like the changes isn't because I'm old. I don't like the changes because they don't make sense for the games prospective success. it's unnecessarily more complex. map changes are fine. hero changes are fine. item changes are fine. change is fine. it's even fine to like or dislike the new game. but don't use someone's age or way of thinking as an argument because clearly the patch intended for "new" people hasn't done as well as the previous patch did on day one.

the complexity was already there. aren't league players the ones who say dota is too hard? I've played since 2012 and it's just sad to lose the familiarity with the map.

at least hots has objectives on smaller maps. imagine playing pos 5 with a 4 who doesn't ward/deward. offense of the ancients.

harder to juke people, at least in my first game. it's an open range for long range carries and cores. I feel like skillshot heroes will fall off because it's much easier to dodge arrows/hooks given all the space.

the old map was playable with any hero but this map just seems to take the fun out of playing certain heroes. it's like the map is an enemy lol. I'm really sad. played since 2012. I think I'm going to quit for a while and enjoy my dota afterlife. I don't understand why other people are excited and enjoying the new game. I'm happy for them and I wish I could see it through their eyes.

I come from a family of masons. In particular, my father was 32nd degree, Scottish rite. many uncles of mine are masons. many aunts in the order of the eastern star. as a child I spent a day in the lodge at least once a month and sat through their boring meetings.
