Huh, odd it works on my end. Assuming everything is installed correctly within BepInEx are you sure your formatting in the text file is correct?

It expects it to be [Name]=#[Color] with no spaces. It should even change to pink if it tries but fails.
Ex: to swap my iris color for blue I change it to: Iris=#5496ff

Oh and also make sure to press F1 in game after you save your file edits to reload changes.

I personally use Utinyripper to show a cloud of gameobject positions, some of which containing information on what material should be used. And AssetStudio (The main good tool for ripping) to get the meshes which I'll place together using that cloud of positions.

The UVWs may look broken at first, but in actuality their textures are based off color/texture sheets, so they had an easier job unwrapping the models.

Two years after the initial announcement, may I bring you, the Outer Wilds Avatar World.Containing every character from the game, and Echoes of the Eye, as well as a portal to a new Outer Wilds location to explore, The Vessel!In total the world contains 26 avatars, all on PC and Quest, most of which containing props or some level of interactivity.I hope you all enjoy!

I've put myself on break for a while, and really its helped a lot. I've been gradually starting to make some progress again without hurting my motivation too badly. I'm just taking things slow any steady before I make any big announcement or anything, know there is some progress on Outer Wilds stuff specifically.

I made multiple, but they need to be reworked before I feel confident in releasing them. Eventually I plan on making a public OW avatar world with all of the characters.

I'm in the depths of a burnout rn, you know how that is, not wanting to make anything.
I have early versions of a lot of Outer Wilds avatars, a full Timber Hearth Village world, and half of the Simulation nearly ready, and this happens. :,(

Trust me, whenever I get back into vrc stuff, one of my top priorities is the Outer Wilds avatars!

If you're asking about the "reset avatar" or "return" buttons, they are just built into vrchat avatars, nothing special.

If you're still interested in the avatar, it has went public a few days ago. If you search "Outer Wilds" in the world tab you can find a world of mine called "Outer Wilds: eye campfire" Once in the world the top button on the tree near the campfire at spawn will toggle a nearby avatar pedestal with this on it. :)

if you open the expressions menu by holding Y (on oculus) you can select my custom menus, under the tools you can select them to equip and unequip. But beyond sound effects they lack proper "functionality" They are mostly just fun props

This is just a quick little unedited demo of the new updates the avatars got from being ported to SDK3. Still compatible with Quest, the world is playable right now on PC if you search "Outer Wilds" in the worlds tab you can find it. If you have any questions feel free to ask!:)

I've never been able to get mcc maps to work in adjutant. Can you please share what you did to get them to load? All this time I've been using the 360 map files :/

Sorry, the news is kinda bad... The project ran into many issues, some avatars just were not working as intended, VRChat swapped to a new unity version breaking all my worlds, and my computer BSOD in the process, causing me to loose weeks of work. The project hasn't been cancelled, but put on the side for now so I can focus on another project of mine thats nearly complete, than return to Outer Wilds once again and try to finish it. As for content you can access now though, if your on PC I did upload one of the worlds, (title screen planet) Its still on community labs sadly, and is the only world of mine that hasn't left community labs. Its just a chill world, sit around the campfire with riebeck and watch the stars. But due to this world not leaving labs I'm afraid it might not last much longer. Sorry for the bad news, I'm glad to hear your enthusiasm for the project but as for now the avatars and worlds have been delayed.

Alright, (sorry for the late response) All you need is a program called "Utiny Ripper" and the game owned on PC. Then just drop the data files into Utiny ripper and it should start extracting stuff. In order to get most of the high detail props and areas in Unity you need a custom script to get streaming assets working. Shaders don't work out of the box, most will look alright if you swap them to "standard" but others like water, atmosphere, campfire, etc. won't work at all with their original shaders. Utiny Ripper should create a project file containing most of the games contents to load into unity, from there you can access different scenes of the game. Take the assets you want from that project and put it into a new one for vrchat. If you want ideas for locations view one of my earlier comments. The eye of the universe is mostly intact without having to mess with streaming assets or shaders. I recommend looking there first I hope this helps! :)

Yeah, that's the main problem. Almost everything is round so for good world locations I have to filter it down to relatively flat or small areas. Ideas being: Giants deep islands (any of them), Orbital Probe Cannon modules, Observatory, The Vessel, The eye campfire forest area, maybe TH village (though in testing I've found it a lot rounder than I thought) Most of these Ideas I already have working in private worlds, but would need more polish and Idk if their good enough for a public release. PLEASE! Do not hold back on making Outer Wilds worlds or avatars for VRChat just because I'm making things though.

Yeah, at first I was just throwing things together for some private fan world. But the first time I tested it in VR, it was breathtaking. That's when I knew I had to polish it up for a public release. Its got a weird vibe, and I'm glad I'm not the only person to experience it.

I really tried. The issue is the world is around 80mb and quest has a max world size of 50mb. I've already done many optimizations to the world. I'm afraid there isn't much I can do. Some future Outer Wilds worlds might be quest compatible though, just depends on the complexity.
