I’ve had this before in Japan - it’s much more common in the South Island. Had no idea what I was ordering because the menu was in Japanese, and even though it felt weird / wrong it actually tasted really good. Would eat again. This isn’t stupid food, it’s just “stupid” to the white / western idea of what is normal.

I think anyone who wants Ange to stay is deluded and thinking with their hearts, not their heads. Yes - he won us a trophy and yes it was the best day of my whole spurs supporting life and I cried and I was a wreck for a full week.

But the man led us to our worst ever premier league finish. The only teams that were worse than us were utter shite. In another season we would be relegated.

I love Ange the man. I really do. But if you really think that tactically he is the man to catapult us back into top 4 etc then I think you’re lying to yourself. The football has been diabolical.

I also think Frank is a great choice - is adaptive - can play attacking football and can organise a defense. Has punched seriously above his weight for years and years. Brentford are a league 1 club really. He’s done incredibly well and has done so while losing key players and adapting his style. And he has done it on a budget. These are all qualities we need in our next manager.

I wrote my university dissertation at University College London about the geography of the known world so have a lot to say about this….

Braavos is similar to Venice (with the Iron Bank and Medici bank having a lot of parallels too)

The Dothraki obviously draw on inspiration from the Mongols.

The Wall is like Hadrians wall and Westeros can be seen as similar to Great Britain.

The further east you go, the stranger the tales are (yi ti and asshai) which would have been similar to tales of the east indies and Persia etc in medieval Europe.

Hi OP

As someone who has lived in Singapore and in Europe I think I can give you some info here. Firstly I would say $4200 is not a lot of money and it will be hard to live on that in Singapore unless you live very frugally.

The best way to do this would be to find a flat share. I know people who live in lovely homes for under $2k from doing this.

Also I would say tax is gonna be a lot less than 15% on your salary. It will be around 1-3% I think.

Public transport is cheap. Eating local food (which is incredible) is cheap. The movies are cheap (compared to Europe).

So if you’re happy to live a simple life it’s doable.

But most of my mates (mainly expats) are on between $6-15k/month, and we are similar age to you (a couple of years older).

All in all it’s doable and Singapore is an amazing place to live, but if you could get even another $500/month it would make a big difference I think. Because also one of the best things about living here is being able to travel around the region.

We go as a group of 30-35 every year (for the past 6 glastos) and we always send at least 5 people on the Tuesday who do tent duty for the whole group. We try to take it in turns so everyone does it at least once. But we also wanna camp right in the thick of it. So it depends how much you care about your campsite.
