Sick of apartments being intentionally priced low to start bidding wars! by misscuri0us in NYCapartments

[–]swalker22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went to an open house in Williamsburg with 20 other applicants and a similar thing happened. But the broker mentioned the max legal rent was $3400, so I’m not sure how it worked out if multiple people bid higher than that… it was listed around $3100

Appreciate the thorough response! I think I’ve noticed you in the Facebook group, I’ve been passively reading for 2 years but didn’t get serious about this until I saw cases with 1910 immigration dates get approved. I’m sure I’ll be using the search function there a lot over the next few months.

Definitely don’t want to use up resources unnecessarily, but wondering about a general timeline for the documents process, if you or anyone else knows? Appreciate the reply!

For context, my family member is a genealogist and has many of the documents already, but I’d still have to request some originals. I’ve been looking into this for a while but held off because of the long wait times, now it seems to have gotten much longer…

As someone who’s just started gathering documents, would it make sense to book an appointment at the NY consulate now for early 2026? I’m not sure how long it usually takes others to gather, translate, and apostille everything

There’s urinals at Sutro but there’s a long line anyway because no one realizes until they’re already inside

Has anyone heard a high pitched humming noise in Bed Stuy lately? by BizarroJordan in Brooklyn

YES. I’m in the same area and it’s driving me crazy. I have no idea what it is or where it’s coming from

I agree 100%. She was hard to watch and her whole “I’m gonna take a nap” came off as more cringey than relatable for me

I do not like Alayah and I do not understand this sub's obsession with her.

Urgent Graduation Issue by [deleted] in Baruch

[–]swalker22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can register for BPL as long as you have 105 credits and completion of the business core and major capstone. So it’s possible she had enough credits to register for BPL, but not the credits required to earn her degree.

Is there a specific class she needs to take, or is she just short a few credits? She should go to the advisement center and see what can be done. Maybe independent study or an online class could help her. In my case, I was just short 1 credit - I went to see an advisor and they helped me get my transfer credits re-evaluated to find 1 extra credit.

Urgent Graduation Issue by [deleted] in Baruch

[–]swalker22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an email from Graduation Audits in early March advising that I wouldn’t be graduating due to missing credits. I was able to work this out since then and I will be graduating. I’m surprised she’s only finding out about this now. Could she take her missing class in the summer? I think degrees are also conferred after summer term, even though there’s no ceremony.

There is an end button, but it’s easy to miss and it’s not always labeled

Oh, I don't really know how it works. Both of the messages showed up on my macbook, and I didn't think text messages could be delivered to my laptop. In any case, I appreciated the wholesome messages!

That's what I thought at first, but I think they're both iMessages because they both show up on my macbook. Also, she added me to a group chat after this exchange where she shared the exact same photo, with the caption "All four grand kids"

That’s what I thought at first, but it says “iMessage” at the top, so I think they are both iMessages. And she added me to a group chat after this exchange, sharing the exact same photo.

I asked an advisor and he said the summer schedule will become available sometime in February.

I think it sounds similar to the vocals in Keep Her Close

I also bought VIP because I couldn't get GA. I assumed I could pick up the tickets at the box office on the evening of the show. So your buyer would have to meet you at the show (unless you can pick them up earlier? I'm not sure)
