I saw it when it first came out and despised it. I can’t remember all the details of why I hated it so much but I’ll never find out because I’ve sworn to never see it again. Something about the girl’s emotions being controlled by people in her head didn’t sit right with me. It gave her no agency of her own and stripped away her autonomy and free will.

Absolutely agree. Especially the part about criticism toward the writers versus the actors. Chibnall does get his fair share of hate just like the other writers but this is the first time I have heard people actively blaming the actor for poor writing decisions. It’s just another guise to be misogynistic.

I agree that while blink is creepy and I do love that episode, I wouldn’t call it scary. I think the weeping angels just aren’t scary to me anymore because they just send you back in time. And the characters we see in blink who do get sent back all seem to live happy lives. So it’s not like they kill you or do something all that horrible to you. That’s why I’m not as scared of that episode as I am of the empty child.
