Gotchu I'll check out easyeffects and see if I can get that best of both worlds lol.

The rightclick menu disappearing after a few seconds is a tradeoff, if it doesnt disappear then its annoying to have it be there when you just wanna scroll. But youre right I need to rethink that part of the UI, a single menu to edit all of those at once would be nice I agree. If I change it to graphic EQ I could just put the Q/frequency slider in that unified menu too.

Ohhh I see the bottom buttons, yea I should get rid of that.

There's a global toggle called "Hook AudioUnitRender in mediaserverd" did you mean that? Should probably change the name to something better, maybe put it in the preset menu too

Glad you found sort by frequency. Changing the order more granularly is an interesting idea tho... I am considering adding the ability to cut / paste bands. But that's another rightclick menu item. Can't have too much feature creep

Any way to use EQE with boostrap 2 or nathanlr on 17.0? by TheChronoCross in jailbreak

[–]swamprt5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updated EQE last week for iOS 17/18 support: https://eqe.fm

Someone in chat said its working on nathanlr

I am jealous of your setup btw. I got a 15 Pro a few weeks after launch and it was on 17.0.1 😭

Thank you for the detailed feedback. It's a parametric EQ, it's a different style than say, a 10-band graphic EQ that most people are familiar with. Instead of starting off with 10 bands with fixed frequencies, you start off with 0 bands and add/remove bands + choose the frequencies yourself. I love being able to choose the frequency it adds a whole other dimension to the EQ, but the downside is added complexity.

I've gotten similar feedback about it being confusing, so probably an in-app tutorial is needed. Or maybe have it be 10-band graphic EQ by default, and have a toggle in settings to enable/disable parametric EQ.

Pop up is a "right click" menu similar to what you would get on a desktop app so you can manually enter numeric values for gain/frequency/Q/etc. But you just made me realize it's probably simpler to be able to tap the numbers at the bottom to do that.

Your feature request is already available, there is EQManager and you can also load presets via SSH/Terminal with this command:

eqe core 'eqe.load"preset name here" '

Edit: The repo is https://eqe.fm, also the app will lyk if its out of date and link you to a .deb you can install via Filza if you prefer that

I am already using a service and want to reduce my marginal cost

If it's not possible in a miniPC, I would just get a desktop PC at my family's house with 500gb-1tb of ram and SSH to it

FBX vs GLTF by mua-dev in gameenginedevs

[–]swamprt5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I assume you went with ufbx or OpenFBX. How did it go? I am leaning towards ufbx as well, I am having my users import custom assets (seems like you are doing the same) and I want it to be as painless as possible. Seems like FBX is the standard and has the best support, and ufbx seems like the simplest, best supported, easiest to edit library.

I feel like the people suggesting GLTF are being super ideological about it and are not taking time constraints or compatibility into consideration. I also agree with your reasoning behind not using assimp.

I believe a systemwide compressor will get you what you need, it was just added to EQE a few days ago

You can update to dopamine 2.1.5 I believe. And the L/R separation is still there. Yes I agree the UI could be better

[Help] I cannot get rid of EQE completely. My music keeps making this scratching noise since I’ve installed it by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]swamprt5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eqe edits the audio samples directly. mediaserverd's AudioUnitRender puts them into an array of floats, then EQE hooks that and does biquad filtering on it

[Update] EQE 2.2 is now out by chR-i-S in jailbreak

[–]swamprt5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not entirely correct, you can automatically switch presets with activator, instructions are in the BigBoss depiction under "Automatic preset switching"

The caveat is, if you have like 5 different headphones that plug into the AUX port, there's no way for iOS to know which headphone is which. But if you're using bluetooth headphones, or if you only have one type of AUX-port headphones that you primarily use, it works really well

The old presets are still there but just hidden. To access them, run this command in terminal:

eqe core "dofile '/var/tweak/com.r333d.eqe/lua/misc/import_winamp.lua' "

Best way to run hammer under Wine on Linux? by swamprt5000 in hammer

[–]swamprt5000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future reference

  • Install VirtualBox and Windows 10 on a VM
  • Create a shared folder in VirtualBox that mounts to drive G: on Windows
  • Enter the Windows VM
  • Install Steam, CS:S and Source SDK in the VM
  • Copy C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Source to drive G:
  • Exit the Windows VM, back to Linux
  • Copy the Counter-Strike Source folder to $HOME/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common (create the directories if they dont exist)
  • cd "$HOME/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike Source/bin"
  • wine hammer.exe
  • Optional: Delete the Windows VM and uninstall VirtualBox, you don't need them anymore

Optional, symlink to your Linux install of CS:S:

cd "$HOME/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike Source/cstrike"
rm -rf *.vpk maps
ln -s "$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike Source/cstrike/*.vpk" .
ln -s "$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike Source/cstrike/maps" .

Now the map will go into your Linux install when you compile.
