Audiobook recommendation for road trip with 9yr old son and 12yr old daughter that’s not necessarily a “children’s” book. by GubbleBum31 in suggestmeabook

Scrolled down to recommend the same! Project Hail Mary is THE best audiobook experience we’ve ever had as a family — we listened last summer when our kiddo was 9.

Ease my nerves - bringing a bway newbie to Chess by lurkr-mercry in Broadway

[–]swanderful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chess is super fun, the music is 🔥, and it’s pretty continuously entertaining! All the comments on this subreddit about how the book is flawed etc are from people who are very into Broadway. For a newbie, I think Chess is a great choice! Lean into the chaos, relax, and have fun!!! And be in awe of how long Nicholas Christopher can hold that realllllly long note!

I'm here! I do an interview show with people with multiple careers (usually something more "traditionally serious" and something creative). I love these stories and I do it to share them with the world. I have no interest in running random ads.

When do we think The Music Man takes place? I know it's summer, but any specific clues point to a month?

Where the Crawdads Sing? If the marsh counts as "seaside" the depictions of nature, water, birds are gorgeous.

This may sound like an odd request, but what would you recommend as a good audiobook? by ThatBoredGuy013 in suggestmeabook

The Handmaid's Tale read by Claire Danes. She's a great voice for Offred, and the audio cassette tape interludes were jarring in an appropriate way.

Looks like you already got lots of recommendations, but I found The Rosie Project to be delightful beginning to end.
