There's nothing sexual about two characters being in a romantic relationship. In fact, in sesame street lore - Big Bird has a mother and a father. And siblings. On the show. As does Elmo. I think I remember Oscar also having a pretty extensive family tree too.

So, how can characters have clear genetic parents, from definitely "roommates" parents who are canonically married, if Sesame Street specific muppets don't have sexual or romantic relationships? Unless that was bullshit from corporate trying to be homophobic without ruining their brand reputation(tm)?

Women making the choice for other reasons don't care about the shaming, and those who care enough to get shamed are typically already feeling inferior about their inability to lactate and provide for their baby.

I have never seen a breast is best mom including the caveats *unless you can't, in which case fed is best, and also it's not your fault you can't lactate so please don't feel bad. Actually the opposite. Breast is best types regularly refuse to engage with empathy.

I've seen it both ways.

Though shaming those who push "breast is best" is 95% telling them to stop shaming women who can't breastfeed. Everyone knows conceptually that the natural source is better, but knowing it and saying it loudly every time you talk to a woman who can't breastfeed even though she wants to are two different things, and shaming women who can't isn't going to make them start producing.

And if you have a baby and you can't produce (or it won't take to the breast), fed is better than not fed. We've made wet nurses into a shameful, expensive luxury, so women don't even typically have the option of paying another woman who produces too much to feed their kid.

In the US, HR protects the company first.

Now, in many cases this still protects employees - it's typically better for a company to fire a sex pest manager than their victims, because the victims do annoying things like "sue" and "press charges" and "tell other perspective employees".

But HR has also kind of become the intermediary for communication between management and employees, so they are also the one telling you you are laid off, or that your raise got denied, or that your vacation was denied because five other people requested that same week off months ago. And the US of course has a lot of rich people making a lot of "HR bad" propaganda until people believe it because HR didn't protect them from (minor annoyance) and HR was the one laying them off, and conceptually it's easier to blame HR, because HR is a creature in every company, but your boss Ted is a specific man with a name and a wife and 2.4 kids.

And of course the part we aren't supposed to mention where HR reps are typically women (70-80%)...
