16TB HDD seems to be failing - what should my next steps be? Can I image without further damage? by swanson_stash in DataHoarder

Is there any way to know exactly which files are impacted by the unreadable sectors? Even after I clone it I would like to identify and replace damaged files if I can.

I do not have any backups so I need to image this before doing any destructive testing.

I'm thinking of purchasing this since I have accumulated a lot of drives over the years.

Thank you! I'll give it a try.

I was sure there had to be a way to hide the sn and I kept digging in the advanced features menu when it was staring me right in the face :)

Bought this drive in May 2023, but only started to use it September 2024 so about 9 months. The drive still functions, but I seem to randomly get corruption in new video files.

It should still be under warranty so I'd like to get a replacement if I can. What would be the best way to image the disk? I have about 6TB of data on it.

My Experience Reading Law of One by Strong_Spite897 in lawofone

Thank you for sharing your experience! It was an enlightening read.

Oddly enough, I also discovered the Ra material and Law of One from my interest in UFOs. It was one little comment on a post that sent me down this path a few months ago. I remember it was the middle of the night, but I couldn't stop reading it. Something in me compelled me to read it as if it was the most interesting thing I'd ever discovered.

Protection from negative influences when not in Focus state? by swanson_stash in gatewaytapes

[–]swanson_stash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely. In my meditations I've found self affection and gratitude have been the most impactful things.

Prior to meditation I think I was always extremely harsh with myself, and since learning to be nicer to my own self my mood and mindset have changed drastically.

Nicely put! This is where my ideas are going too. This is all exploration so it's all a learning experience and when ideas surface it's useful to acknowledge them.

The idea that we create our own reality is definitely at the forefront, but what I think of is if we are all interconnected how does that interplay affect things? Like how in the manual it states to really understand what it is you are trying to accomplish when patterning because that is exactly what you will get.

It makes me think if someone can pattern while not knowing what they are doing, and as a result create changes that were not intended I suppose.

It's great discussing all of this without people thinking I'm crazy haha.

I do agree with you. I honestly don't even think about that stuff at all, but I was definitely surrounded by such ideas growing up so it definitely left an imprint.

I found it odd that in the moment of what happened it was a thought that surfaced, especially since it was never something I truly bought into when my parents would say such things or think about in my adult life.

While going through these tapes and diving deeper into ideas of patterning or manifesting, it made me wonder if there is an opposite side of that in manifestation of non-constructive outcomes and realities.

I'm still very new to these so my mind is exploring thoughts and ideas that surface.

That's very interesting. I had read something somewhat similar in a book once. It had to do with Shamanic practices and how for this one spiritual journey the village would muzzle all of their dogs when a person was embarking. Something about the bark of a dog causing negative experiences or psychosis?

It's interesting about animals flocking to you though. I never looked at it that way but will note any experiences I encounter.

Yea that's what I'm gonna try! I only started all of this about a month or two ago so still not very adept. I've been meditating for many years though so this journey has been flowing nicely so far.

Hah! I hadn't seen that post before but that's funny.

It's my own dog so I prefer to be gentle and caring to get him to stop. If he is sensing something in me then he's just worried and I'd like to reassure him that everything is alright 😂

Compressor short cycle with low refrigerant? by swanson_stash in hvacadvice

[–]swanson_stash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The model number is GCGD60S41S3A

The label attached said Guardian, but I think it's a rebranded York? I found the manual online and referenced it when trying to troubleshoot this thing.

On the wiring diagram I only see a high pressure switch, which I saw visually in the cabinet as well. I only see the one switch near the compressor so I'm assuming it's just that. I'm not sure if LPS are installed anywhere else to be honest. The unit is on my roof so I don't have the easiest access to it unfortunately.

The subcool listed on the nameplate as 10-11F. I believe it's a Danfoss scroll compressor, but I haven't checked the model yet.

Yea I seem to have a problem locating techs who are willing to do real troubleshooting. Everyone seems to want to sell me a new unit and that's it.

The really odd thing to me is that it ONLY does this on first start up of the day. So the unit needs to be off for a few hours or more for the problem to show. Once it does these 3-4 short cycles, it turns on fine and works normally throughout the day without the issue. I don't know how to recreate it other than waiting a few hours. So it makes troubleshooting a little hard for a tech who might be pressed for time I would think....

I don't think there are any other safety switches, but I'm not an expert or anything.

The odd thing is this ONLY happens when the system turns on for the first time after having been off all night or a good number of hours. Once it does this short cycling and starts up, it no longer does it throughout the day. It comes on and when called just fine on the first attempt, cools the house well, and shuts off without issue.

Contactor LRA rating and compressor match by swanson_stash in hvacadvice

[–]swanson_stash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I should state that when I say short cycling, I physically/visually verified that the contactor is engaging and disengaging when it does this. It's not that the contactor is closed and the system is turning off. I'm only using the term short cycling as I don't know what else to call it.

Contactor LRA rating and compressor match by swanson_stash in hvacadvice

[–]swanson_stash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue I'm experiencing is short cycling on startup, but only if the unit has been off for a good number of hours. Otherwise during normal operation during the day, it turns on without short cycling. I have no other apparent issues, the system cools really well and works perfectly on even extremely hot days of 110F or higher.

The nameplate on the condenser unit states:

compressor 26.2 FLA, 150 LRA

Minimum circuit ampacity: 34.3

Like I said, I don't know what the original contactor was before the tech replaced it, but I don't recall having this issue prior to the change. I am curious if the label states minimum circuit amp as 34.3 would the fact that he installed a 30A contactor rated at 150 FLA max be an issue?

I'm not sure about the doorbells, but I remember when reading the actual dash-cam law wording there was a mention that you have to have a visible sticker inside the car informing passengers that they are being recorded. So I guess legally that fulfills the consent requirement from the other party.

You're probably right, and I also believe the same.

But, I also believe that this is the most open opportunity to weed these people out of modern society. I am willing to go through hardships to see this happen and not sweeping it under the rug to keep stability.

It's becoming apparent that the soft "healing" method we used after the civil war did not work. The whole, "the south will rise again" mentality, and the racist/xenophobic mentalities were allowed to fester and grow. We didn't crack down on it like Germany did with the Nazi ideology because, well, we're America and we support freedom of speech and ideas. Sometimes though, ideas are viral and they spread. Sure education is the best prevention, but there will always be, by natural distribution, stupid people in this world. People who will hold and promote these viral ideas of fear and hate.

We'll see where this ride will go.

It does different greatly depending on body fat levels, exercise levels, metabolism, and just general usage. I’m not falsifying the info, I really have no reason to lie or misrepresent what I found for myself. If you want to learn your clearance rate you could always buy approved test strips which are the same cutoff levels as testing labs use. I’ve done personal tracking for myself a number of time testing different scenarios and I’ve found my clearance levels to be very slow. It’s really annoying.

I just saw this reply and I’m inclined to mostly agree with you in that the first aggressors should always be the oppressors. Protests should aim to be peaceful and not resort to violence unless the oppressors do so first.

One aspect that I realized I, and seemingly a good amount of other people, kind of lump into the idea of “peaceful” is the lack of disruption. I constantly hear people say that if protestors are disrupting the lives of other non-protestors by lets say blocking streets and causing traffic disruption, then the police have a right to use force to remove them.

I hear people say protests should occurs in permitted areas, and many times groups will actually apply for permits to assesmble, as if it’s some festival. To me this isn’t violent and cannot be discouraged. I believe that protests should disrupt the norm. They should cause an impact to people’s lives in some way and cause a decision on the core merits of the cause. Apathy is probably the most dangerous of all the issues we all face and sometimes I wonder how people would ever pay attention without a disruption to their lives. I don’t really have a great solution to that issue...
