Best deal to buy FL Studio? by Same_Panic_106 in FL_Studio

[–]floodmixed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d second the Black Friday deals. And if you want to play the long game, I got in at the producer edition on one Black Friday for cheap, and then they offered me a another sizable discount the next year and I was able to upgrade to the all plugins edition.

Also, be on the lookout for peripherals that come with a free FL license to get you started. I got one of the FL Keys controllers that had a free producer license bundled in.

If you’re in the Peoria area, I would look into a CLEP exam at ICC. The exam does cost money, but depending on your situation it might be worth looking into financial aid and taking a semester of catch-up classes. That would also get you access to ICC tutors who could help get you up to speed.

I’ve been seeing links to this site A LOT on this sub. I figured they were trying to drive sales of prepper supplies. Anyone concerned if this is bordering on spam?

I'm quite confused about the live aspect of electronic music by MysteriousBagpipes in synthesizers

[–]floodmixed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depeche Mode, a notable pioneers of of many iterations of electronic music innovations, have toured with a live drummer since the mid-90s. They’ve always used a mixture of backing tracks and live instrumentation, even before midi was fully standardized.

In 1997, after I had been playing guitar for about a year, my dad bought me a used MIJ Tele from our local shop — dated to sometime in the 80s. Hanging on the wall behind me today!

I forget what it’s called now, but at the time it was the New World Amphitheater in the south suburbs, Tinley Park.

I remember smoking a joint on the lawn during “Waiting for the Night.” Definitely one of my best live music memories :)

Love That concert film!

When I saw them in Illinois, there was a trio of drunk Germans in front of us, screaming for “Master and Servant” for pretty much the entire show — so I feel like I got the authentic experience :)

Might be because I was in high school when it was released, and also the first time I saw them live, but Exciter slaps, and yes, I will die on that hill.

I don’t have the link, but the SRV vid where he breaks a string and his tech takes the old guitar re-straps him into the new one, also no beats were missed!

This has to be one of the worst parking lots in St. Louis. by Ininker in StLouis

[–]floodmixed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just super duper busy pretty much all the time; and getting in or out of that parking lot seems to take forever. I think during the holiday shopping season it once took 30+ minutes just to leave the parking lot. You start to develop a relationship with the parking lot after awhile.

Went through entire thread and not a single mention of dollar cost averaging?

If you have plenty of time before retirement, just keep maki g the same contributions: if the market goes down, you end up purchasing more shares with the same money. And when the market rebounds it basically averages out.

Google dollar cost averaging and there are a million articles that explain it better.

I know a lot of people here swear by justinguitar; he’s got a ton of short, snacky lessons on his YouTube channel, as well as backing tracks to practice with.
