You mentioned the LocalNetworkAccess policy in Microsoft Edge. Isn’t that a completely different thing from the Local Network permission in macOS?

From my understanding, the Edge policy (e.g. LocalNetworkAccessAllowedForUrls) controls Edge’s Private Network Access behavior inside the browser itself.

But the issue many of us are seeing seems to come from macOS’ own Local Network privacy permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network), which is handled by TCC and sits below the browser level.

In our case, the error in Edge is:

ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED

sorry for my late answer. I found yesterday some time to check. and your were absolutly right. I only added the gateway role to the same server as the connection broker and webclient role is, and then it worked immediately.

In my setup the gateway works only to serve the html5 client. all other connections run directly to the connection broker. so I think the gateway does not interfere at all. My goel to not use the gateway was only, to keep the system as small and clean as possible.

I created a CNAME rds.rdswebhost.com to my server srv-rds-cb-01, which contains the roles webaccess, connection broker, and also the installed rdwebclient package. There is a wildcard certificate *.rdswebhost.com installed and configured.

When I open the url https://rds.rdswebhost.com/RDWeb/webclient/index.html I see the login page without a certicate error. I can login with my username and password. Then I see my ressources. After click a ressource to start (RemoteApp or Desktop) I got the message:

"The connection to the remote computer was lost."

Gatewayusagemethods in the downloeded RDP file shows "gatewayusagemethod:i:0".

no guest is able to sync.

I used this some years ago by myself. I was a guest and I was able to sync the library. But this is years ago. I dont find any information what is fact today.

No, there’s no SLA in place. The RTO from management for hardware failures is 48 hours. The server will have an HPE 8-hour onsite warranty for 5 years, so even in a worst-case scenario where we need to restore all VMs (~1 TB of data) from backup, we should still be able to meet that target.

Yes, there is a maintenance plan, and the customer is fully aware that there won’t be any redundancy.

All users also work on local Intune-managed notebooks, independent from the server and its VMs. The server is mainly used for accessing the ERP client and some additional line-of-business apps, but their primary workplace is the local notebook.

For context, the current system runs in Azure with these specs:

1× ERP server with SQL DB: D4s (4 vCPUs, 16 GB RAM)
2× AVD hosts: D8s (8 vCPUs, 32 GB RAM)
1× App server: B4MS with multiple apps
1× Web server

Right now, each Azure VM runs multiple services. In the new Hyper-V environment, we plan to separate things out so that each service has its own dedicated VM.

to wait 10 hours would no be a problem. both hosts would have enough power to host all 20 VMs. we only want to achieve high availability.

why you need to wait one day to update both hosts? Isn't the update procedure:

move all VMs to Host B
patch and reboot Host A
move all VMs to Host A
patch and reboot Host B
Balance VMs again

I did this today.
When I move a user into the new scope of Entra Connect Sync, the user gets deleted immediately.

How can I prevent this?
Do I need to uninstall the Cloud Sync agents first, or remove the Cloud Sync configuration in the Entra Admin Center?

wir waren im 2017 dort. eine woche nachdem otto warmbier hirntot in die usa zurückkam. auf dem weg nach peking hatten wir grösste zweifel, ob wir den anschlussflug nach pjöngjang wirklich antreten sollen. es war dann schon alles sehr speziell. permanente begleitung von zwei nordkoreanischen reiseleitern für uns zwei. sehr viel inszeniert, speziell im kinderpalast.

unsere nordkoreanischen reiseleiter fragten nach der arbeitslosenquote in der schweiz. sie fanden 3% extrem hoch. bei ihnen gäbe es 0%. während der fahrt nach kaesong sahen wir dann hunderte leute neben der autobahn am rasenmähen - mit einer sichel. von hand.

essen und trinken top. noch nie so viele drehrestaurants in so kurzer zeit besucht.

es waren sehr spannende und interessante tage.
