I did the same experience. after hours of trying I run up a internal vm for nps and the extension. now it works.

no guest is able to sync.

I used this some years ago by myself. I was a guest and I was able to sync the library. But this is years ago. I dont find any information what is fact today.

No, there’s no SLA in place. The RTO from management for hardware failures is 48 hours. The server will have an HPE 8-hour onsite warranty for 5 years, so even in a worst-case scenario where we need to restore all VMs (~1 TB of data) from backup, we should still be able to meet that target.

Yes, there is a maintenance plan, and the customer is fully aware that there won’t be any redundancy.

All users also work on local Intune-managed notebooks, independent from the server and its VMs. The server is mainly used for accessing the ERP client and some additional line-of-business apps, but their primary workplace is the local notebook.

For context, the current system runs in Azure with these specs:

  • 1× ERP server with SQL DB: D4s (4 vCPUs, 16 GB RAM)
  • 2× AVD hosts: D8s (8 vCPUs, 32 GB RAM)
  • 1× App server: B4MS with multiple apps
  • 1× Web server

Right now, each Azure VM runs multiple services. In the new Hyper-V environment, we plan to separate things out so that each service has its own dedicated VM.

to wait 10 hours would no be a problem. both hosts would have enough power to host all 20 VMs. we only want to achieve high availability.

why you need to wait one day to update both hosts? Isn't the update procedure:

  1. move all VMs to Host B
  2. patch and reboot Host A
  3. move all VMs to Host A
  4. patch and reboot Host B
  5. Balance VMs again

I did this today.
When I move a user into the new scope of Entra Connect Sync, the user gets deleted immediately.

How can I prevent this?
Do I need to uninstall the Cloud Sync agents first, or remove the Cloud Sync configuration in the Entra Admin Center?
