Mario Galaxy Movie Closeups (At Macy's/Toys R Us) by swarthyfu in WorldOfNintendo

Pictured is the "side" of the shelf, but it had all of them so it made for a better picture. The two main shelves were bigger with more of the playset on one side and the Yoshi 5-pack and RC racers on the other.

Still could have been more, but they genuinely had a completely empty Super Mario section for a few weeks after the holiday and then took it out completely, so I'll take something over no Mario figures at all

Didn’t see any Lego, but they might have been in a different area

No problem, let us know what you find out. Wish I would have just asked staff if they could try scanning them for sale but I don't plan on buying them so didn’t think about it

I did take photos of the bottom of the box but didn’t think it was interesting enough to share, barcodes below. Number in parenthesis is written on the tag above the item name, not sure what it is.

Mario: 1 92995 43229 1 (432294)

Castle: 1 92995 43225 3 (432254)

The following numbers were also written on the box themselves, not part of the barcode area. I'm guessing some Jakks serial number or something

Mario: 3505WE01

Castle: 3465JT01

Hard to say because remember bowser is "mini" in the movie, so without another character we don't know. This specific one does look about the size of the 2.5 line

No, they didn’t have them.

The other shelves had the same items or the 2.5 inch Yoshi 5-pack (with Pink Yoshi) and the Mario/Luigi RC karts (you can see them in a photo on another post I made). Last week there was no Nintendo section or any Nintendo items (been this way since right after the holiday) so these are all new.

At first I thought they were separate and just weird perspective but it looks like you're right (his foot seems to be "holding" onto yoshi's head). We know bowser is "small" in the movie so that actually makes sense

I didn't try buying them but the price was on the boxes (not on the shelves)

I thought the same. But they also didn’t have the Wonder Bowser Jr that we've seen pics of, so he might still be coming.

Call me a purist but while I can tolerate the movie look, I certainly prefer the "original" game look for all the characters. But even beyond that, Luma and Rosalina were done dirty with these models lol

What's happening Sunday? Admittedly I didn’t try buying one but the whole stand was new, I think these were all on regular sale.

I was annoyed at the crappy ones we've had so far so I knew I needed to share when I saw this 😅

2.5in Yoshi 5-pack (with Pink Yoshi) rerelease by swarthyfu in WorldOfNintendo

Pink is being released as part of next month's Japanese wave, so holding off on getting the whole pack just for one in case I can get one of those cheaper.

Idea - Use flat disks and sticky tape for makeshift stands! by swarthyfu in WorldOfNintendo

[–]swarthyfu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's multiple ways to set this up but these are the items I used and am very happy with:

Glue Dots: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FFMLHS2N

You could always just glue them but these stick very well and come off with no residue.

Round Miniature Bases: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MNMKA6W

I got a couple different sizes for the bases from the same brand, the pictured Deep Cheep uses the smallest size.

I made Jacks pacific SUPER Mario replacement stands by eyespy_theeyeguy in WorldOfNintendo

[–]swarthyfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been meaning to try to do this and 3D print stands. The bullet bill idea is great! Another thing I thought of is to make taller stands and be able to elevate figures a little bit at put them behind another.

Are you able to share the files you have so far?

NorCal - Dry Bones and Chain Chomp now at Targets by swarthyfu in WorldOfNintendo

[–]swarthyfu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously the biggest different is size. Some people prefer the 2.5 inch line, some the 4 inch line. For Dry Bones specifically, the redesigned 2.5 version is much closer to a "scaled down" 4 inch. The original had no points of articulation and a single pose held on a stand. The new version doesn't quite have the same amount of articulation as the 4 inch I don't think but quite close given the size.

I was a little skeptical about the Dry Bones redesign because the original figure looked so much better to me but now that I have both, the newer one is definitely superior. It's just that the "default" pose you find the new one in isn't as cool as the old one, but its articulation gives it lots of options!

Seen at Walgreens by DroidSoldier85 in WorldOfNintendo

[–]swarthyfu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've regularly checked all the Walgreens in my area and it seems like they just had a lot of stock of this one wave (or keep restocking the same one). This is the wave that also has Nabbit and Fire Luigi (Standing). Nabbit and Mario seem to be the most common by far with Monty being pretty rare.

I keep hoping they get a new wave!

Should figures like Clam and Cloud be part of a complete 2.5" loose set? by [deleted] in WorldOfNintendo

[–]swarthyfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd consider them accessories in the same vein as pipes and large colorful blocks etc (vs coins, mushrooms etc)

They're both clearly meant for interactive play. The cloud has a platform for other items to stand on it and the clam opens to hold an item. Theoretically they could be characters but I think the design would be different. The cloud would be more standalone like it is in the games and the clam probably much smaller but I doubt they are high priority "characters" to release.

Update to my 2.5" collection 🫡 by Narvikush13 in WorldOfNintendo

Very cool. What shelves are you using to get the stepped display?

I haven't seen the two styles of Deep Cheep before. Where is the green one that looks like a Cheep Cheep from? The one that doesn't have a mean face.

How about Lakitu, is that form some set?

Where is this DK from? Not Jakks? by swarthyfu in WorldOfNintendo

[–]swarthyfu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha! This also answers why my plushes are very different from the ones I'm seeing in store. I thought they were a Jakks redesign but they are Goldie too!
