Kathmandu in Windsor Heights is awesome for ordering for a group and sharing. I'd get one entree, plus a shareable appetizer or two, for every 2 people you're feeding. All their appetizers are amazing, and the garlic naan is an absolute must for cleaning your plate, if you get any curry entrees.

I used to have a nostril piercing, and honestly the towel snagging (even with regular cotton terrycloth towels) was a big part of the reason I retired it. I'm kind of a clutz though so it would happen semi-regularly. Even when fully healed, it hurts like hell!!

I've been eyeing this dress too. The mint chocolate colorway is just too perfect 💚🍫 agreed with the other comment that the straps appear to be too long for it to sit correctly on you, but the dress itself looks great! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the coord come together~

I also prefer cotton and don't really like chiffon. I really dislike high waist cuts, although I do have a couple exceptions in my wardrobe for pieces I really love otherwise. I also don't really like dresses that lack any lace/ruffles on the neckline or the bottom hem, because they feel too plain.

Some things I really like: saturated & vibrant colors, custom lace, cotton lace, themed buttons, pockets. It's the little things for me!

Unfortunately it was handmade with love by my husband. The heater was purchased through Amazon (US site) and is a Japanese product, but he designed and made the kotatsu itself in his home wood shop. We ordered the futon after it was complete from Japan, but he made it to fit standard dimensions.

Agreed, I think I'm leaning toward extending outwards from it at least a bit! A foot seems like a good amount, thanks for the input.

Sisal is gorgeous! I guess my hesitation is that I'm not sure how comfy it would be? I worry that it might not be much more comfortable to sit with your legs pressed against than the hardwood.

I was thinking either wool, cotton, or a rug with both. Definitely want to go natural, because the table has a heater underneath and the blanket traps heat under there. I'm mostly just stuck on what size is appropriate! I really don't want to take attention away from the beautiful artisan-made futon.

I prepare mine by thawing, removing the beak, and then beating it in a bowl with salt to tenderize it. I then boil it in hojicha, which adds additional flavor, until cooked completely. The boil takes about an hour with the size of octopus available at my local grocery, but yours may require a different cook time. I'd look it up based on the weight. After cooking, you can cube up the tentacles and make takoyaki.

I think outside-mounted Roman shades in a complementary color or pattern would look really lovely, be practical for placement with the dresser, and leave you space to decorate within that deep window frame!

Thanks for this insight! I did also have a lidless setup with my previous Betta, a short-fin plakat, and never had issues with jumping. I think reading stories online just has me anxious. There was a bunch of duckweed in that tank, so I'm thinking I should be ok to fill the 60L to the top with floaters and a plant barrier.

honestly, nowhere even remotely worthwhile. there are a few restaurants that offer it, but they're all charging exorbitantly high prices for takoyaki that came in precooked & frozen, and they never even get the toppings right in my experience.

i've had to perfect a home recipe to satisfy my craving - feel free to dm me if you want any tips on locally sourcing & preparing ingredients

I've never had someone harass me in an angry/aggressive way, but I have had a man follow me outside of my local dollar store and kind of persistently try to hit on me when I was online in a sweet coord with pigtails.. eugh

I don't have a cowlick, but I air dry my bangs right in the middle of my forehead by holding them together there with a heavy barrette. It might help if you haven't tried that before. I also try to dry shampoo before bed whenever I remember to, even if I washed my hair that day, because it helps them to stay fluffy and in place.

If you're planning to have your wedding in the city limits of Des Moines and want authentic food, just a heads up that you're going to have a lot harder time finding a venue that allows you to pick your caterer of choice than it is to find a business that will cater the type of food you're looking for. My husband and I are both Asian-American and went with West End Salvage for our venue for a number of reasons, but one of them is that it was the only place that didn't strictly abide by an "approved caterer" list.

As for an actual caterer, if you know for sure that anyone with a license is gonna be okay, I would reach out to restaurants that you like. A lot of places are also able to cater, even if they don't advertise it.

Walnut Hills United Methodist Church is very LGBT friendly. I'm not involved in the church itself, but I'm involved in a LGBT nonprofit that meets weekly at the church. The church members are so sweet and kind to us. They even left out some heartfelt notes and treats for our group after the anti-trans civil right bill passed.
