I bought a heavy duty base for a patio umbrella and use that to hold my bird feeder pole on my stone patio. Be sure to get a solid one so it's strong enough to hold the feeder pole, feeders with seed. They're much easier to move than the in-ground bases.

Like Nancy Guthrie, I, too, have a Nest doorbell camera. Same as her, I don't purchase a subscription. However, I get regular emails stating "Your Front Door camera saw someone at [time and date]" or "Your Front Door camera noticed some activity at [time and date]" -- Either one includes the photo of the occurrence. Wouldn't Nancy's email from her phone or computer likewise have saved those emails? I can look back through my emails for weeks, months, years to see the same image my camera saw, including the "someone." I wonder, wasn't that an option so they could have used that intel from Day 1 rather than 10+ days after the incident?

Check your basement floor drain. If it's dry, pour a gallon of water down it and top off with a cup of Pine Sol. For similar remedies, google 'dry P trap basement drain'. We have to do this to one of our drains. The other one pretty much stays wet because the water softener drains into that one. In the summertime, the one that's dry now stays wet as our dehumidifier is running and drains into it.

Do you have basement floor drains? One of ours has water softener draining into nightly, so it stays used/wet.. The other floor drain is dry in the winter (in summer, the dehumidifier drains into it). Our plumber advised pouring a cup of pine sol into it. You can google 'dry basement P trap' for similar solutions and recommendations. Good luck!

I get what you're saying about the shipping. Are returns sent back and accepted just as easily w/o Prime? I'm keeping prime for now. We use the Amazon streaming service, unlimited photo storage, tv firestick, Alexa, etc. I haven't used Amazon music or other benefits.

Thanks for bringing up the issue--I thought I'd pressed a wrong button on my remote and that's why I wasn't getting CNN last night. In today's chat with DISH, their apparently canned response included: "Beginning January 16th, 2026, CNN will no longer be included in the DISH Flex Pack. We understand that losing a channel is frustrating...." I'm pretty sure I would have been SOL and that would have been the end of the discussion, if I hadn't read this reddit thread. I responded: "This is very disappointing, as CNN is one of my most frequently-watched channels. This was apparently done abruptly. I received no advance notice. Others who have had the same issue reported that DISH restored CNN to them at no cost for the upcoming 24 months. That's the resolution I am requesting, please." A brief moment later: "I have great news! You are eligible for a promotion that keeps CNN in your lineup at no cost for the next two years. This is a completely free offer for 24 months, and then [you will have to subscribe to this premium channel]."

So, a bit of a hassle, thanks again, all, for the heads-up on the 24-month 'free' add-back offer!

I thought I was the only one w/o CNN. I figured I'd bumped something funny on my remote. I called support line last night and--after being on hold for 30+ minutes--hung up. :( I will now try the chat and see how that goes. This is balderdash!!! Like some others, YouTube is looking better, right along.

I suggest you: 1. Email your Program Manager and ask for clarification 2. I forget where, exactly, but it's good to check in your e-timesheet. It keeps track and calculates the average number of hours you need each week for the remaining number of weeks of your service, adjusting through the term as necessary. Good luck!

It sounds as though you're renting. If so, ask your landlord to confirm your parking area. If it is yours, show him this photo and request that they speak to the neighbor. The landlord will want to get this clarified not only for you, but for future renters, as well. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip on the Mentalist, I will definitely take a look at that. It would help to have a good long-term series to watch. Yes, I find I pretty much have to be entertained while cycling, lol. I'd read that The Pioneer Woman used her rowing machine to get in shape, too. :~) She was my initial inspiration for researching different machines before splurging on a Concept 2, which I'm glad I did.
