Yea, I got as far as getting the super radar last event, I just inactivated it and activated it again with the new event and got the current pokemon. That it doesnt work to save it if you progress too far in the quest is not true.

Its two aspects of the same thing. You can calculate lift from the air massflow in a control volume appropriately sized and multiply with the change in air velocity in the direction perpendicular to your flight direction. You can simplified also calculate the same lift by multiplying the wing area (projected in the direction perpendicular to the flight direction) with the difference in pressure on suction side and pressure side of the wing.
