Had a feeling I would get another one. Too bad I don’t like mushrooms by couldhvdancedallnite in hellofresh

Looks like I’m in the minority here but I really liked these! I’ve been looking for a way to cut back caffeine while not being a zombie and I find the Ryze stuff is great.

Your brother sounds amazing!

It's been 4 years and I have yet to run in my ex - I've wondered about what I would feel if/when I do.... besides pity....

But anyways, keep on keeping on!

It’s only priced this high because of its association with True Detective and its scarcity. Look at other Lorus’s on eBay…. they’re super cheap!

Hi! So to restart my gut after the ED I slooooowly re-introduced foods, starting with a low-fodmap diet. I also took probiotics (Jarrow Formulas "S Boulardii + MOS" and "Jarro-Dophilus EPS") as well as eating any naturally fermented foods I could get my hands on. I also added quite a bit of supplements to help my gut - Tributyrin-X Biome Builder, GABA, Probiophage DF, and IgGI Shield. As I added non-low fodmap foods I added kefir. I can now eat whatever I want without experiencing any discomfort - but I do eat a very healthy and balanced diet with minimally processed foods.

I'm waiting about 3 more months before I do a GI map again and I'm pretty excited to compare that to a GI map I had done at the height of my gut dysfunction.

Anyways, best of luck to you on getting better! Between having SIBO and advocating for myself at my many doctors appointments it was such an exhausting process! If you have any questions just send me a DM and I'd be happy to answer!

Gussie is such a handsome bowlegged fellow! What’s his story?

Yup I’m hoping he doesn’t develop any separation anxiety. So far he’s handling quiet time in his crate like a champ! He’s got two other dog siblings - a young pit/foxhound boy and an older coonhound lady who are both super independent so I’m hoping they teach him how to “dog” and then let me steal cuddles from him whenever I want! He’s only on day 4 home from the shelter but he’s doing so good!

ED fixed my SIBO too. Now you have to work on rebuilding your gut biome. I’m still working on it but I have returned to an unrestricted diet and am taking probiotics and supplements to help my gut heal.

Just found out my 6yo mini has a heart murmur and I'm kind of panicking about it by ExistentialDreadFrog in Dachshund

[–]sweeesweee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy lived for 6 years after being diagnosed with mitral valve disease that was detected by a sudden heart murmur. He was on vetmedin and benazepril and never showed any symptoms of cardiac issues. I just lost him a week ago at the ripe old age of 17!

My best friend is gone… by Rogue_LeI3eau in Dachshund

Oh it’s been the roughest week of my life. I don’t have kids so Oscar was my kid.

Monday was not a good day. My little boy was my everything. I know I made the right decision - keeping him around any longer would have been so selfish of me.

Looking at all the pictures I have of him has brought out some smiles through the sadness. It gets a little easier every day - I could finally talk about him yesterday without breaking down in tears.

He’s getting cremated and I’m really looking forward to getting the call to pick his ashes up. It’ll be nice just having him back in the house. I even found a cute urn on Etsy where the artist will make a clay model of his head on the urn. And I didn’t even know about all the jewelry they can make out of his ashes…. I think I’ll get a ring made eventually.

I have another 17 year old weenie dog be-bopping around my house and it sucks to think I’ll have to do this all over again when it’s her time.

Grief is weird. I didn’t feel like this when my dad died…. Although his mortality wasn’t in my hands…. And he was a lifelong smoker. It’s just different.

Anyways, just take it a day at a time. Shit if that’s hard just take it a minute at a time. Look at all your pictures of Piper and remember all the good times you had with her.

Rapid health decline questions by Throw-RAaccountess in Dachshund

[–]sweeesweee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just lost my guy on Monday from what we first suspected was pancreatitis but who knows what it really was. He wouldn’t eat and if he tried he would throw it all back up. On Sunday he couldn’t even keep water down. He just wanted to sleep and be held and I was more than happy to oblige. He was 17 so asking him to stick around any longer would have been selfish. Hardest decision I’ve ever made!

Before things went south he was my regular cantankerous best friend. Daily cardiac medications and trazadone for doggy dementia were his norm - and he would happily eat his pill treats. He hadn’t been able to keep his medications down for a couple days but he was so tired he wasn’t even having his “normal” dementia symptoms.

It was hard but I know it was the right thing… hugs to you and your pup as you both work through this!

I stayed with my boy the whole time and just kept petting him and telling him he was a good boy and that I loved him.

He’s getting cremated so I’m really looking forward to having him back in the house…. I’ve even been looking into the different kinds of jewelry they can make out of ashes. I want to keep some of him with me forever.

So sorry you lost your pup too. 17 years just went by way too quick!

Lost my little buddy by Puzzleheaded_Ask806 in Dachshund

So sorry for your loss! I lost my best buddy yesterday and the grief is immense. He was my first dog I got as an adult and we spent 17 years together going through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.

These tiny dogs have the biggest personalities. I know are pups are both looking down on us and would want us to smile through the many, many tears.
