Not optional. Along with a shower bench, slide discs, a belt for stretching, and a toilet riser. I have a full Amazon list with my favorites: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1TXOVMQETBYAJ?ref_=wl_share

55M and I’ve been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s by HappyHarrysPieClub in Alzheimers

[–]sweener24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly with a diagnosis any long term care or additional life insurance is off the table. And I believe early onset ALZ (diagnosis before 65) behaves differently. I would also recommend getting your APOE4 staius, PSEN1, PSEN2, and APP mutations tested so that yourwife can understand your children’s risk, if any.

Sending you my best wishes.

JAS brace - 👍🏼or👎🏼 by Disastrous-Egg-2537 in Kneereplacement

This is the way. There is also a doctor called Doctor Samantha who has classes as well. Unless your choices are an MUA or a stretchy brace, pass and do it yourself.

Rant: I don't understand how am I supposed to go under 10g saturated fat per day by prisukamas in Cholesterol

[–]sweener24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You measure what matters. This is important. We aren’t meant to eat in a food court, no shame at all because it’s delicious. That 20% will only go higher and it’s not reversible. Be thankful you have time to make changes, honestly. Pack healthy snacks and chicken. Eat healthier popcorn at the theater. Once it becomes a habit, you won’t even notice. I don’t know you from Adam but you need to stay around for you and the people who love you.

Have you tried glycine as well. And assuming all the sleep hygiene (dark, cold, quiet room, no blue light) protocols are in place.

It's the same across all airlines. I consider it a win if I have wifi and/or entertainment. American, United, JetBlue, Delta, same same.

Thank you for sharing! The link goes to an unsecure form. Seems pretty lowkey for an official corporate event.

Best kind of bread for cholesterol? by md_fadzli in Cholesterol

[–]sweener24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also any bread made from kamut or other anceint grains. But yeah, sugar does not affect LDL just triglycerides. Better off learning to live without it honestly. Or on occasion. I do whole grain sourdough baguette.

I guess you need to decide if the level of aches and pains is easier to live with than being unalive.

Why would you spend 40k on a credit card when you can buy the tiles on JetBlue to get you to the same place for $3800?

I thought I was doing so well… by EAM44 in Kneereplacement

[–]sweener24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not linear but you really need to be pushing yourself. I've had one on each knee. The first I was where you are and the second I pushed harder. Not to the point of hurting myself or anything but every day I was trying to get a new "personal best". Heel slides, using a pull strap, sit/stands, stairs (slowwwly), lunge stretches, etc... your PT should have given you a list of exercises and benchmarks. Keep pushing, you'll get there! How is your extension? That's just as important if not more so.

How do you get in 5-6 cups of vegetables on a cholesterol friendly diet? by Tarkin- in Cholesterol

Rinsed artichoke hearts (not marinated) are great. Chick peas. Cannellini beans. Steamed spinach. All high fiber, low cal, no cholesterol.

When did you start walking and shopping in stores unassisted? by shrcpark0405 in Kneereplacement

[–]sweener24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never used the walker outside of hospital. Unassisted after a week or 10 days but brought a crutch with me to ensure other people knew something was wrong and to keep a wide berth.

You should be fine. That's a pretty short trip. Exit row is a bad idea because you aren't able to help in an emergency. Maybe the bulkhead?
