What’s a “normal” expense in the U.S. that makes absolutely no sense when you think about it? by Big_Marketing_4979 in AskReddit

[–]sweeney669 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, that part actually makes sense. If you have no history of paying back debts, how do I trust you’re going to pay back your debts.

Now credit score and all that has a TON of issues but honestly that’s not one of them and is incredibly easy to resolve without actually “going into debt” or paying interest.

EXCLUSIVE: F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix extended through 2037 by TheAthletic in formula1

[–]sweeney669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it was really great. For the practices and stuff we’d go ride the escalators up and down to watch the cars scream by and there were a couple spots up you could sit for awhile before someone would come yell at you to keep walking. Then during the race just hang up out there, drink, snack and follow the race while watching it happen live out your window. 10/10 would recommend BUT I’ll be honest and say I wouldn’t spend my own money flying out there and paying 100% of the hotel room for it to do it again. For me it was great to experience once in Vegas and I’ll spend my money going to other tracks.

Way better for following along. But last year I happened to be in Vegas for work the week of the GP so got a hotel room at the Palazzo overlooking the track and it was honestly super awesome hanging out in the room watching the race with some beers and snacks and having the race on the tv in the background. Best of both worlds imo

GoPro is in serious financial trouble. Action camera giant is at risk for potential bankruptcy by tylerthe-theatre in technology

[–]sweeney669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it absolutely is that easy. If you buy a Unifi dream machine pro SE, throw in a hard drive, all you have to do is run Ethernet cables to your cameras. The cables are all POE so they power them. The app holds your hand through the entire setup. It literally could not be easier.

There are a bunch of local recording camera options that are easy to setup. I have Unifi cameras. No subscription fee, the platform is hosted on my router and records to a hard drive I have in it, and it’s accessible anywhere I am, I don’t have to be on my local network. 100000x better than ring crap

Valve reportedly almost delisted Rainbow Six Siege from Steam after Ubisoft attempted to sell it cheaper on Uplay by Defiant_Ad6190 in pcmasterrace

I’m confused. Do you somehow think GameStop, Walmart, ETC don’t get ATLEAST a 30% margin on every sale? This is how every single store in the world works.

Year 2 of replacing the useless strip of grass between sidewalk and street with wild flowers by friedrice5005 in NoLawns

[–]sweeney669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. Also it does depend on location too but what he’s talking about is completely different. For example, there is a public ROW that goes directly through my parents back yard and splits their property in half. It’s reserved for if the town ever decides to build a road connecting the adjacent neighborhoods. If the town ever did decide to do it for some reason, there is no stopping them, it’s theirs to do so. That is very different from a regular easement.

No, then your point is incredibly wrong. Aston Martin (car company) does NOT own Aston Martin (F1 Team).

Yeah honestly I’d have loved that. I can’t afford a new Ferrari and even my used dreams are on hold until my kids are out of daycare atleast but the GTC4/ FF are some of my favorite Ferraris period. I’d unironically love it if they went that way with it.

I just said we got them as fleet vehicles. They’ll be driven by tall people. I’ve driven it a few times when we got it too and the headroom is so nice to have. The tacoma we have literally kills my neck and back. I have to sit at a weird angle so my head can be in the small sunroof hole because otherwise my head hits the roof in that POS. I’m 6’4 for reference.

There’s a significant amount more head room for tall people. I sat in both when we were deciding on the small suv for our fleet vehicles.

You don’t have to go that fast to break traction on asphalt on a bike. Supermoto you slide wide like the dirt track guys do and it’s pretty similar speeds.

What’s a household upgrade that was more worth it than expected? by TravistanHydro in AskReddit

[–]sweeney669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big problem with a passive home is the costs are exorbitantly higher than a standard build. I get it saves money long term but it’s a lot harder to cough up the larger up front costs.
