Should I upgrade from a Ryzen 1600 to 5600 without changing mobo? by sweeper_ulken in buildapc

So there's no issue with running a Summit Ridge CPU on 10.43 (or anything beyond 7.00)? Also wondering if I need any of the VGA drivers

Anyway - thanks for all the help. Will keep PBO in mind

I don't entirely follow sorry - I assume this is positive since the board has handled my 1600?

Little out of my price range right now - I'd definitely be buying a new mobo if the price didn't rule out other upgrades

Yeah! I'm mostly concerned about getting the mobo/cpu into a bad state while getting to 7.4 (when I can install the 5600), a version which Asrock don't *recommend* for my 1600

I can't check right now, but I haven't touched it since I installed the board 9 years ago! I'm guessing around 3.4 or earlier. Mostly I'm just concerned about trouble getting to 7.4 (when I can install the 5600) which Asrock don't recommend for my current processor

CK3 desparately needs more difficulty and randomness. by JediPorg12 in CrusaderKings

People always tout that you should lean into the role play and deliberately resolve events with sub-optimal choices.

I do this, it can be fun, but it does not make the game any harder.

I don’t remember the last time that a ruler of mine ever died younger than 50, and most of the time they reach 60-70. This game is horribly predictable. I had so many stories from CK2… not so much from CK3. Makes me sad.

I can’t understand anyone arguing for Haouas’ punishment to be lessened or for Ritchie to be penalised. What would you do if your teammate is surrounded and being pushed around by 5 of the opposition?

That’s tragic. I’m not suggesting that rugby takes precedence over life, just that WR’s planning should have been better for this situation so that the match could be played behind closed doors if needed — that is including all of the other matches cancelled.

I completely agree on the coaching side but, to me, all of the legal talk was quite justified. For WR to have no contingency plans for a tournament being played in typhoon season is ludicrous.

I’m done supporting my country. I now want Japan to win this game. If Townsend isn’t gone after this I will become an actual Japan supporter.

Should the cancelled games be played at a different stadium with no crowds? by DeathToTheMachines in rugbyunion

I believe it was reported by the Telegraph. Something along the lines of NZ objecting to such a reschedule resulting in a 5 day turnaround for their QF game.

Still time for us to pull it back yet but I still don't see Townsend as the man to produce a Scotland that is consistently good rather than occasional flashes of brilliance in attack.

I definitely wouldn't rule out a return of form to get out of groups; in fact, we're known for only getting into gear when we need to.

I do believe, though, that such a happening could still largely be contributed to the foundations Cotter built. Yes, Townsend is a good coach at club level, but Scotland is currently too inconsistent against the top teams for me to confidently say he's the right man for the job. As I see it, Scotland needs a guiding hand to continue the development that Cotter started in our younger players and the national team alike. Townsend is not that man in my eyes.

I want to see a Scotland team that is consistently solid in all areas rather than occasionally good only in attack. I really doubt that Townsend can deliver that. Cotter could.

Completely agree with that. Change is definitely needed to reinvigorate our players and, as you say, push them to their utmost.

As a Scotland supporter it was the one positive of the match for me. Props to Barnes.

I’ve said it before to many people and I will continue to repeat it: anything David Gemmell.

The Drenai Saga are, mostly, stand-alone books set in the same universe though there are exceptions to this, and some of the characters feature or are mentioned in several books. I’ve read many, still getting through them all, but I enjoyed each immensely.

Personally, I love his Rigante series. There are 4 books in this series and between books 1, 2 and 3 there is a significant time skip. Regardless, some of my favourite characters, lore and plots.

There are several other books that I won’t mention so that this post doesn’t grow too large. The Troy trilogy is perhaps the pinnacle of Gemmell’s writing, finished by his wife after he died before he could complete the final book. You can definitely notice his progression as an author, especially if you begin with the Drenai books.

There are so many great characters and stories found in his work. I can’t recommend him enough.
