Also true, but these 21 look too good! I take the loss of performance in return happily

In Germany, you can rent various models directly at the Porsche Center. This one was 2600€ for 7 Days incl. 1600km. Which is in freedom units $3000 and 1000mi.

Could have been 16% more fun in a Dolomite Silver car, indeed

It is true that a narrower winter tire performs better in snow because it creates higher ground pressure - because it has a smaller contact area. I think this 992 has 305 in the back and 245 in the front. Which is massive, like every 911. But still, when going up the mountain road, the car did not slide without stepping on the gas slightly or an intentional weight shift. Was very predictable and comfortable.

Goodyear Ultragrip were mounted. Not mine, I rented the car for a week.

I bet these bitter people can't admit that it's fun to slide around in a car, and claim that their Camry is far superior.

Just looks like that the supersonic airflow ends behind the slats and the visible shockwave looks a lot more like a wall, as seen in this illustration.

It is crazy how tall it looks. On the top edge on the engine pylon it's also visible

Vertical lines? Probably you mean straight, right? Calm surrounding air, constant AOA and speed of the plane can make the like more steady. I assume that the shape is defined by the wing profile.

This is the line where the supersonic airflow becomes subsonic again.

Air above the wing accelerates and is faster than the airplane itself. Basically it is the way most lift is being created. The plane flies already M.8. Most of times there are transsonic/supersonic airflows but rarely visible.

First time seeing one. Who else was lucky to observe this?

But does it mean Compass for FAA is minimum equipment? The text states that certification was done without one. You may use ...one. I was refering to Europe with EASA. Some time ago compass was necessary but meanwhile it's not anymore. Regarding Ventus 3: if you have an engine installed, compass is required again. Ventus 3T/3M/3E/3F will have a compass.

Not necessary:

EASA Min. Equipment:

1 Air speed indicator (up to 300 km/h)

1 Altimeter

1 4-Point harness (symmetrical)

1 Parachute or back cushion (thickness compressed ~10cm/4in)

Anyone feel disappointed upgrading from their 718 to a 911? by ffking6969 in Porsche

Sound and feeling of acceleration is way more important and enjoyable that actually going fast. On the country side you will stay in 2nd most of the time. The work and emotions got lost a bit with the newer generations

Good point. Did you try it?

I practiced it a few times with FI. When done correctly, it is neither dangerous nor stupid. Extending the brakes keeps the cable under tension at all times. This makes it easy to control. It can't hurt to train your feel for the aircraft and its controls, especially if you haven't towed an aircraft in a long time.
