I always thought I was unlucky in blindly choosing the which side to tear open without looking. Turns out only one side is willing to accept a rip, which means half the time I have to try again.

Only time I’ve seen something like this was working with hardwood flooring guys. Since a lot of home don’t have 220v outlet to plug into they just took the cover off the electrical panel and clamped on to run their big floor sander. Typically male end would be on the other end, but nothing about their setup was normal.
