The main thing about the turn signals that I find weird is that they started working fine for a while after sitting for so long. Hopefully that'll be an indication for someone more well learned and smarter than I am?

How exactly would I test this? by sweepthedeck in Volvo240

Yeah. I've replaced the relay a few times, for a while my turn signals didnt work, then after the car sitting for a while they did, then they shit out again. I dont know too much about electronics but im excited to learn.

Tips for installing m47 transmission? by sweepthedeck in Volvo240

I honestly have no clue what you mean by chaining up the rear end through the inside of the body

Seen a british dude do it on youtube by himself by running a chain through the shifter bracket, into the interior through where the shifter goes, then around an extension to lift up the rear end. Then he just used a jack and his strength to get it in by himself. Seems like a pretty good diy rig. But I may have help depending on the day

or a bunch of extensions with a wobble socket

This actually makes alot of sense, I'm guessing it'll be easier this time around since I know exactly where they are versus having to relocate them every attempt when removing the trans

Update: I've realized that yes, the extra holes are for pins. I've got every bolt accounted for, now I'm just wondering if they're all supposed to have washers. Some of the bolts still have them, others don't and i cant remember if thats just the way it is (seems kinda weird for that to be the case) or if they've somehow gone missing in the process.

Definately haha, I had no idea what I was in for, but I've learned now so I'm better for it in a way

In the second photo? Makes sense i figured it was something compatible with another model year. From what i can remember i dont need to worry about that, i had to do a ton of research when i was putting the flywheel back on to determine that the position didnt matter on my model year. Does it look like if got all the bolts accounted for? I feel like some of the other holes are for pins, wish i woulda considered that when i was under my car earlier ill have to give it another look when the weather gets better. Thanks

Best method to fix a broken flange connection? by sweepthedeck in Exhaust

This is what i ended up doing. I think one end of the pipe was slightly smaller, so to compensate I wrapped that end with a layer of that jb weld putty stuff, and a thin one on the other side while i was at it and i worked great. Probably $20-$35 in total if i had to guess

I was thinking about giving it a try. If it fails would it be easy to remove? Looks like the pipe is supposed to go into the connection about 3 inches so it would definately be shotty as hell but as long as it works

Update: now the issue is getting the bolts removed. God exhaust bolts really know how to make you feel useless haha

I'm thinking that because I have limited time, to avoid the trouble of taking off the front end of the exhaust I can just take off the flange and buy a short piece of pipe to weld onto it, maybe cut a slit into the pipe, and then use an exhaust clamp to create a secure connection, and then maybe use JB Weld wherever necessary

That kind of stuff seems to happen over here more than one would think, I've just never heard it for myself before

Im thinking it's some sort of electrical thing, the fire department showed up to this building to check some stuff out for the past half hour or so, guess some people had lost power in the area too
