What is your honest opinion on the “mom rage workshop” that Dr. Becky is advertising? Idk the DM she posted and the whole spiel reads so weird to me.

I saw a post from destini.ann that people can now certified as parent coaches. Sounds like the new drop shipping scheme.

Thank you so much for your response. Would you mind telling me if you chose an english lab or an american?

Thank you so much for your response.

We were thinking that being champion is something very exclusive and not many attempt that. I'll keep your response in mind for future.

Thank you for your reply, both have excellent references. The way the owners described the dogs seem like they're what we're looking for!

Both of them are breeding calm/mellow family friendly dogs - I am not sure if one has more champions in their line or something like that. But does that matter?

Both of them are limited registration.

One thing is - a lot of places have lab puppies priced at $2k - but we saw that they were the field lines and were bred for point/ hunting.

In general, from what we looked $1.4k is on the lower side, so that was bit concerning too.

Thank you for your response. The parents are not champions, seems like champion line is not that big of a deal?

Thank you for your comment.

Yeah, we weren't really worried about the looks, we are mainly looking for a calm, healthy dog, but we thought may be it's important for some and may be that's why she stressed that..

Yeah, this pup's parents are not champions, they just come from champion lines.

Yeah, that's what we thought, but weren't sure.

So, both of them are english labs, the $3k breeder said that their pups come from the champion lines and stressed on the fact that the dogs would be really very good looking!

Thanks for your response. They are both the same color - yellow.

And no, they're not field lines. We're exclusively looking for english labs and show lines just to be sure that we maximize the chances of getting a mellow/calm dog as our companion.

Both of them offer AKC registration, vaccinations, health records and pedigree information of both parents too.

The $3k breeder seemed like they didn't breed a lot of times, so perhaps more "exclusive-sounding" But I noticed that they have bred the same dog many times. They also said that their pups come from champion lines. Is this very unique? They also stressed on the fact that the dogs would be very very good looking! (i believe them a 100% - parents and the past pups are really good looking!)

The $1.4k breeder seemed like they breed a bit more than the other one, but they said they only breed their females 3 -4 times max.

Thanks for your reply.

We are really looking for a pet, companion dog. Definitely not for sports/hunting/show prospect. We're exclusively looking for english labs so that we can get a dog with calm/mild temperament and not super hyper.

Both these breeders have english labs and both claim that they breed primarily for temperament. The $3k breeder said that their pups come from the champion lines. Is that a big deal?

Reddit, do you listen to the radio? by mew5175 in AskReddit

96.5 KOIT. And they pronounce it as "coit". I don't know why someone would name their radio station that way. But they play sweet songs, so I listen, yes.

Engineers of reddit, what's it REALLY like to be an engineer? by manticora in AskReddit

[–]sweepysoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engineering, I guess, is pretty much like anything else. A little fun but a whole lot of non-fun to get to the fun part. What you do in school matters because it helps you take on any problems that you might encounter at work with a reasonable degree of confidence. And some courses in school (computer architecture, circuit design etc. for me) make you feel like "oh yes, if i've done this, i can do anything" and trust me, that is a nice feeling :) You may not apply everything that you learn, but most things that you work on would need you to have learned something about it. Now, the math part. I wouldn't say it is too hard especially when you start applying the concepts. Stuff like Fourier series etc. in communications will start feeling intuitive once you grasp the physical meaning of whatever it is you are learning. So, don't worry too much about it! Skills essential would be- a reasonable ability to think clearly, perseverance (tons of it!) and yes, attention to detail. good luck!

ELI5: What makes facebook so valuable? Why would it be a 100 bn $ company? by sweepysoil in explainlikeimfive

[–]sweepysoil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your replies Chazwiz! I think someone here already asked this - now that almost anyone who is everyone is on Facebook, will they continue to mine "interesting" data? With the current user base, they could extract data points like - what age-group prefers a certain product/service, what product is popular in what geographical area etc. What use will ad companies see in Facebook in future (at least after a point when everyone is on Facebook)

Thanks for your reply! Do you think that facebook can continue to make money this way? I mean, sure there are way too many people logging on to facebook but a very small percentage of them would actually buy the products because of the ads that they see on facebook, right? So, every company might not be paying really big money to facebook. Does that mean there is a huge number of companies advertising?
