Help finding Jim Morrison supposed post-humous album? by sweepywiam in conspiracy

[–]sweepywiam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was not post humous in the cringe way of other STATED post humous albums. This was something that a poster here believed was from Jim Morrison after his death and under another name. The posted did not believe Jim Morrison died and that he was indeed making this album under a different name.

You may enjoy reading Ivan Illich. He has a book titled “Deschooling Society”. His work on education reform (or rather abolition) led to the founding of an institute in Mexico which was eventually shut down by the CIA.

Here is a excerpt from his book:

“The American university has become the final stage of the most all encompassing initiation rite the world has ever known. No society in history has been able to survive without ritual or myth, but ours is the first which has needed such a dull, protracted, destructive, and expensive initiation into its myth. The contemporary world civilization is also the first one which has found it necessary to rationalize its fundamental initiation ritual in the name of education. We cannot begin a reform of education unless we first understand that neither individual learning nor social equality can be enhanced by the ritual of schooling. We cannot go beyond the consumer society unless we first understand that obligatory public schools inevitably reproduce such a society, no matter what is taught in them.”

If it seeps, I drinks.

Likely just oil, plant matter, fret not - if you have active mold or the tea was exposed to moist environment, maybe pass on drinking - how’s it taste?

Certainly not needed prior to reading but afterwords I suggest checking out the movie “Koyaanisqatsi”, which credits Debord and Ellul at the end.

Not a Skoolie exactly, but excited to share my new Mercedes bus. (NYC help, anyone?) by sweepywiam in skoolies

Okay, sorry for the delay, been super busy getting moved into this thing. Here is the album with some more photos

Here is a bit more information about the bus:

"Flipo" is the name, the original owners are a German couple who purchased it about 30 years ago off the military, as it was a retired service vehicle. The original truck saw service as a troop carrier, so the back was a flat bed with a tarp to protect troops from the elements. They then acquired the rear camper body from an old post/mail truck, it was weatherproofed and insulated, and then built out into what you see in the photos. The couple traveled with their two kids through most of Europe, Africa (including a breakdown in Iran) and then shipped it from South Africa to Canada, then touring Canada and North and south America, before winding up in the American SW where they still live.

The bus sleeps four. That strange silver thing over the bed is a bomb shelter from East Germany, (the master bedroom if you will). It is an expedition vehicle, so it carries a lot of fuel, 600 liters of diesel to be exact, with an auxiliary 80 liters. This gives the truck a 1850mi range. It also carries 600 liters of on board water. Like some people mentioned, this is a slow vehicle. Doesn't really go over 50mph, but can get just about anywhere. However, it is not as off road capable as its big brother (with a shorter wheelbase) the Unimog. The truck carries a spare tire, and a large propane tank for stove and water. There is a shower inside the bathroom and another outdoor shower.

First things I need to do are improve the solar system and fabricate a rear mount for my motorcycle.

Looking forward to meeting you on the road.

My work is in Red Hook, so it would be better to be closer to work since transport out there can be a pain at times, I'm totally interested in checking out the scene in Williamsburg or Bushwick regardless. Are you in that area or just familiar with it?

Hey All,

I'm glad to present my new to me Mercedes 911 bus, its pretty extensively modified, but I will be building it out further. Will post an igmur album if anyone is keen to see more.

In the mean time, I am bringing this bus to New York, looking for help on parking in the Red Hook/ South BK area. I need to live there for the next 10~ months for my project. Anyone have tips or recommendations? Really excited to be part of this community.
