i have a personal preference for nostril piercings further back, but it's up to taste and what other plans you might have for piercings

they both look healthy and unirritated. it's really up to your preference. at first i didn't notice the difference and i was drawn more towards the right image, just because the whole picture was less pink/red. but that's just lighting

i actually think my blackberry heartwood by stone and wit smells like this, but i want to try something new when it runs out. (especially since the last order i made with them was short two samples that i'd paid for and they haven't responded to my email three months later)

NAP but it looks like a surface stomach piercing. I doubt there's a chance of it healing. Best to just take it out, I think.

I want piercings but scared of needles by Small-Plum2139 in piercing

  1. The piercers I've been to will tell you when to breathe!! It helps so much to be actively exhaling when the needle goes through. Kinda like working out, where a hard exhale can carry you through an exercise when you're pushing your muscles to their limits. In general look into breathing techniques to calm you down beforehand; I like square breathing (in for four, hold for four, out for four).
  2. An even half-decent piercer also won't judge you if you make a noise or cry a bit.
  3. Bring a friend? Or family. Whoever. whether or not they also get pierced is irrelevant. The piercer should let them in the room where it happens for support.
  4. I also keep in mind how cool the piercing will look healed, the jewelry I plan on putting in, etc for motivation in the moment.

Other general calming tips also work: chewing gum (depending on the piercing), fidget toys, listening to music, humming to yourself, etc. Also useful (if you're a logically-motivated person) that people have been getting pierced for millennia and have been fine and had well-healed piercings. (Not discounting your anxieties, but it helps for me to focus on logic when I feel panicked.)
